Leadership in Action - March, 2000
iBrief for azToastmasters
What do "Quality Time" and "Understanding Self" have in common? They are the titles of the winning speeches from the first flight of area contests which began with Area G-2 & G2 last Friday. Joel Konopken (Los Amigos Hablantines) and Cecilia Chavez-Protas (In-Ahwatukee) are in the running for the District's Spring 2000 Speech Contest.

Area contests fill the month of March. Lt. Governor Education & Training P.J. Glauz, DTM, has posted the latest dates, times, locations, and more! Its the information you and others will want in order to not miss these entertaining events.

The Speakers Bureau is wrapping up its new edition. However, its not too late to sign-up and become one of District 3's sought after speakers. Print and fill out the application --- Today! You may also download an editable copy and e-mail it to Committee Chair Sue Delap. While you are talking yourself into it, encourage, challenge, and lead another member to move beyond his or her comfort zone with you.

Centurion Toastmasters held their Charter Banquet February 12. The Scottsdalians will hold an Open House in March. Contact Mike Dicerbo, DTM, 480-947-9196 for details. Valley Toastmasters will celebrate its 17th year with an Anniversary meeting next month. Two Above & Beyond members finish manuals and report contest winners. Grogan Green Valley members completed a Youth Leadership for 20 students.

Remember: All CTM and ATMS sent to TI before March 31 will be recognized at the Spring Conference. And, if you sponsor five new members from January 1 to March 31, 2000, your Conference registration is "FREE!" Like in "PAID!"

The Executive Council Meeting is March 25. Major business will be the nomination of officers for 2000-2001. Nominating Committee Chair Jodie Kay Petra, DTM, is conducting a Star Search for future leaders. It may be the natural next step for someone you know (perhaps even you).

Wanted: Mentors. Sponsors. Alive only. Apply here for information from Lt. Governor Education & Training P.J. Glauz, DTM. Reward? Valuable.
