Cold and snowy...very White Christmas!
An okay day. When I woke up for real this morning I was alone. Literally! I looked out the window and there was my husband clearing the snow off his car. The next thing I knew his car was gone.
I got up, did my email checking and such, then started got started on dinner stuff. I washed and prepped the strawberries for dessert, then started preparing the salad for dinner. I chopped and sliced veggies for a while.
Fumihiko came home for and we spent some time together and then opened our presents. I got a coat from him, a book from my best friend, and a calendar and some notepaper from a family member in England. Fumihiko got a new electric shaver, a fleece jacket and undies (oh, I wasn't supposed to mention those...too late!). He also got a candle and a garbage holder for his car. I think he did rather well!
He went to get the chicken and I kicked the salad preparation into higher gear. When he came back I finished mixing the dressing while Fumihiko set the table. We had Greek Salad and Roasted Chicken, with some marinated duck. It was delicious. The Greek Salad was sooooo good.
After dinner we washed and dried the dishes, then I wrote my nengajo. We decided to take them to the post office tonight. I'm not sure if they'll be on time for people in outlying areas, but I hope so. Then, we went to karaoke!
I didn't think that we'd be able to get in, but we did. We sang for about 3 hours. What fun! I did a bunch of Christmas songs and some pop favourites.
We left around 2 am, hit a convenience store to pay a bill on the way home. Now, we're chilling out, eating cheese and drinking some red wine. It was a pretty good day.
Not that anyone asked, but here are my favourite Christmas songs. If I don't hear these songs it just doesn't feel like Christmas for me.
Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, or a joyful holiday season. I'll be away tomorrow night so don't miss me too much.
Night night!
