Cold with lots of snow.
A day with a bad beginning but an okay ending.
I went to bed last night around 5 am. I know, it was very late, but I just didn't have any reason to go to bed, you know. This morning at 8:30 the house phone rang, and then Fumihiko's cell phone with it's stupid Star Wars theme rang. It was the movers telling us they'd be here between 11 and 2. I tried to go back to sleep but my husband decided to go out. He left his cell phone at home and didn't tell me where he went.
He slinked back home around 10:30, accused me of being cranky (no kidding Einstein) and then left again.
After he left, again without telling me where he was going, I got up, took a shower, and got to work. I moved the couch, the kotatsu and the dining table. It took a ton of work, especially since I had to do it all by myself. Then, I decided that I should take down the tree to make space for the old fridge. I was taking it down when my husband returned. Instead of saying something nice to me like,"Thank you for all of the work you did," he ignored me. The movers were here now. They tried to bring the fridge in. It wouldn't fit. Then they decided to bring it in through our tatami room, which is where I was. No one at any time talked to me, they all acted like I wasn't there. I got extremely angry, and after I finished putting all of my tree stuff away, I left. I was surprised to see the amount of snow that we had, but I wanted to get away.
I ended up walking to the park. I felt a lot better just by getting out of that environment. Not great, but better. Since I had to go to the washroom, I decided to go home. The door was locked. I got angry and decided to keep walking. Then I decided not to be so nice and that I'd bang on the doors and yell if I had to. I didn't have to. I let myself in. I was still being ignored so I went to the kitchen, made myself an omelette and of course felt much better.
I had a lot to do. Fumihiko had transfered a lot of the stuff out of the fridge, but he hadn't cleaned it yet. I did it. I cleaned everything. It took a while, but looks quite nice inside now.
After I finished, Fumihiko went to bed. He was tired and looked terrible. I was tired too so I decided to sleep myself. I went to sleep on the couch. I slept for a while and Fumihiko woke me up around 6:30. He was hungry. We went out for dinner to Togashi, the good yakiniku place.
A lovely meal later, we went to the grocery store and bought a few things. Then we came home.
We watched a dvd, Under Siege, and had some wine and cheese. At midnight we even kissed each other.
We're a lot friendlier now. I don't know why the early part of the day was so bad.
Anyway, hopefully 2006 will be a better, happier year. I hope it is for you. Happy New Year!
