Hot and sunny. Annoying isn't it?
A better day than yesterday. I could go into details about who said what, and what each of us did, but that isn't very helpful now. I slept in very, very late this morning and felt drained when I got up.
I had a putzy day around the house, I watched a couple of Friends episodes to cheer myself up. I had half an avocado at lunch too. That was yummy. I managed to buy one last night at the perfect stage of ripeness.
I went to my school around 5 to prepare for my visitors. Looking over the school quickly, it looked just fine. I ran the air conditioner on high for a while to cool down the place, it was sweltering. Just before 6 though, I opened the curtains and gasped. The beautiful hardwood floor was covered in dust! I didn't have time to drag out the vacuum cleaner, so I grabbed my sweeper thingy and swept it into an unobtrusive corner. I also closed the drapes so that I didn't have to worry about anyone else seeing the dust.
My discussion with the two ladies went very well, and they both decided to study with me. I'm very happy. Fumihiko showed up to help after we'd decided things.
After they left, we kind of made up. I'm still a bit put out, but I'm getting over it. We went to Jiro for dinner and both tried new dishes for us. I had ginger pork with miso soup. It was very nice. Fumihiko had yakiniku set, which was very big and had tons of meat. There were 3 kinds on his plate!
We stopped at the grocery store for someone's beer and someone else's Pepsi Nex (hey, they were giving away a UVA detector strap with the bottle), and then came home. Fumihiko is off sleeping now. He has to get up early in the morningagain for work. He has to be somewhere at 6 am. Poor guy. I don't know how he does it. I certainly couldn't.
And that was my day. Better than yesterday. Tomorrow is the big fireworks event of the year in Tsuruoka. I think I might go by myself. I'm a bit disappointed as I really wanted to go with hubby this year. I would have worn my yukata, but I think it's too far to walk in it.
Gotta go, night night.
