Cool with a bit of rain later in the day.
Today was good! I had a hard time getting up this morning, even though I went to bed before Fumihiko last night. I went off at 3 and he was still up. I fell asleep almost immediately, but for some reason woke up at 4:00am. Fumihiko was sleeping on the couch! I woke him up and sent him off to bed, then I followed again.
In the morning I showered and then drank my coffee which hubby made. Then we headed out to Gusto for breakfast. It was good. I had chicken and hubby had the lunch special. His was only okay. When we finished eating he dropped me off at my school.
My classes went quite well today. We had a lot of fun in both classes. In the second one their Mum told me that they couldn't come next week, which would be the last class of the year. Oh no! I wanted to do a kind of Christmas lesson with them. However, we managed to reschedule for Thursday. Yay! They left and I got a message from Fumihiko saying he was going to pick me up. He arrived and we chatted while I changed and did my paperwork. Then, we were going to leave and I noticed that my last two students had left their coats in my closet. Fumihiko called their Mum, but she was already on her way to pick them up. Happy ending this time!
We decided to go for coffee so we headed over to Mr. Donuts. I was trying to get enough points on my card to get a Schedulen, but it looks like they've already finished giving them out this year. Sigh. Still, we had some nice cafe-au-lait.
Since we were in the area anyway, we decided to go to the hundred yen shop nearby. I got a few things. I got a little plastic container to put my spices in, a car garbage for Fumihiko, and a fountain pen and refills. I love my other fountain pen. Course it wasn't from a hundred yen shop so I don't know if this one will be as good. Fumihiko wanted an ear pick, so I threw that in my basket. (Yuck!)
We decided that we were finally hungry enough to eat something, so we drove around for a bit. I wasn't sure what Fumihiko had in mind, but then he suggested Cafe Framboise, so that's where we went. It was nearly empty when we arrived. Still, we had a nice meal. Fumihiko had a Japanese meal, mixed fry. He had a huge shrimpy thing and some fried clams with rice, miso soup and pickles. There were a few other things as well. I had miso chicken with salad and bread. Yeah, I know, I don't usually eat bread, but I ate this! It was good. It was French bread with a really hard crust. Hey, if I'm going to eat carbs, it's darn well going to be delicious ones! We had coffee and dessert afterwards. I ate the fruit part of the dessert and a tiny sliver of the cake, then passed the rest of my plate over to hubby.
Our next destination was Yamaya, the liquor/foreign foods store. We got there, but decided to make a detour through the hardware store. We looked but didn't buy. I saw a lot of things that I'd like, including a laminating machine. Someday maybe. When we got to Yamaya finally I picked up a few things. I got real mayonnaise, club soda, taco sauce and sunflower seeds. Fumihiko got some sugar.
We came home with our purchases and I immediately put the spices in the little container. They all fit. Yay. Hopefully I won't lose them anymore. We watched a bit of TV, well Fumihiko did anyway. He did finally rewatch Desperate Housewives. It was fun, even the second time around.
Anyway, that was my day. Fumihiko is off to work tomorrow, but I'm at home. I'm not sure what I'll do. I'm hoping to watch the Agatha Christie that I taped and maybe start making our nengajo. Wish me luck!
Gotta go! Oyasumi nasai.
