December 27, 2006 - Wednesday

Rainy and windy, clearing a bit at night.

I went to bed very late last night again, and couldn't sleep at all. I wasn't tired. Perhaps I'd had too much caffeine late at night? I'm just not sure. This morning when my alarm went off I got up, but was very tired. I debated going back to bed, but decided to drink some coffee and watch the news. After if I wanted I could sleep.

I never did go back to bed, but after I made the bed and got dressed I did take a long nap on the couch. Sigh. It was a very long one. Obviously I was very tired.

I finally unpacked from our trip and washed my pajamas. It was the first time this year I'd worn them and I hadn't washed them before. They had that musty "been in the closet too long" smell. I really didn't do much at all today.

Who's there?

I got a message from Fumihiko that he'd be late, so I didn't worry when 6 pm came with no hubby. What did happen a couple of times was the doorbell rang. Now, I have to be honest. I am such a 'fraidy cat, that if it's someone I don't know, or they aren't carrying a big box with my name on it, I don't answer the door. And, why should I? The first time this lady came, she leaned on the doorbell for quite a while. I watched her through the monitor and I had no idea who she was. She came back about an hour later, rang the bell some more and this time left a brochure and a cleaning cloth. I looked at the brochure and decided it was probably a cult.

When Fumihiko came home, I showed him the brochure and the note. It wasn't a cult lady, it was his insurance saleslady. He'd told her he'd be working late today, but she didn't believe him I guess. Now, why couldn't he have told ME he was expecting a visit from her? I might (okay, probably not) have opened the door.

We went out for dinner soon after he came home. Tonight's feast was care of Jiro. We had one of our favourites there, the pork saute in garlic oil. It was good. After the meal we went by my school to check on things...it was fine. Hurray for that. Then we came home via the grocery store. We got a bunch of stuff that we didn't really need...same as usual!

At home

When we came home we watched Desperate Housewives. Tonight was laugh out loud funny. I loved the beginning. Edie wanted to watch a movie, but her live-in boyfriend (Susan's ex) wanted to watch football. He was being obnoxious so Edie went upstairs, changed into something skimpy and sexy, and invited Carl to come upstairs with her. Once there she tied him to the bed, went back downstairs and watched her movie while eating the whipped cream that she promised to use with him! In other stories, Gabrielle and the nun had a knockdown-catching-on-fire fight in the church and Bree found herself being blackmailed by Betty Applewhyte. Lynette's husband just became her co-worker and Susan's Doctor took himself off her case as her surgeon. He'll be her boyfriend for now anyway.

For the rest of the evening we just relaxed. I reprogrammed the VCR for next year. All my shows are moving to another time slot, plus they won't be on for the next week, so it was about time.

And that was it. I'm taping Alias again. It's on late, but if I watch it "live" I'll never get Fumihiko off to bed. He has to work tomorrow and then he's off for the New Year's break.

We have no plans for the break. This scares me. A lot. Because I can't get him to even suggest anything that he'd like to do. I don't really want to stay in Tsuruoka all the time, unless we do something fun. Help me please! I need to keep him busy.

Gotta go. Night night.
