A little rain, clearing later on.
An interesting day for me. I slept in very late and got up and showered. Then we went out for lunch. It was okay, but nothing special. Then, we bought a few groceries and came home.
Fumihiko wanted to watch movies in the afternoon, so that's what we did. I picked the shows today. We had a double feature of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. I hadn't seen Before Sunset before, but Before Sunrise was one of my favourite movies. I loved the way that the two young people talked to each other, really talked. Before Sunset was short, but still wonderful and didn't take away from the first movie. It was an interesting way to continue the story of Jessie and Celine. I highly recommend both movies.
After the movies we had dinner. Tonight was simple...yakiniku. Just cook for ourselves. After I did the dishes and then watched a bit of TV and used my computer. Around 11:30 Fumihiko made some soba (traditional New Year Food) so we ate that. At midnight we had a little kiss, I sang a couple of verses of Auld Lang Syne and then we wished each other happy New Year
We changed into warmer clothes and got ready to do our hatsumode or first visit of the year to the shrine. We walked to Tsuruoka park. It was a little cool out, but really not too bad. When we got to the park we joined the long queue of people waiting. It took us about 25 minutes to get to the top of the queue, throw in our money and do our prayer. We walked home.
I opened my bottle of Sherry that I bought in Hong Kong two years ago and we had a small tipple. Fumihiko liked it. Yay. He followed it up with a beer though. We watched Apollo 13 on the telly and I played games on my computer and wrote this entry. I'll likely head off to bed soon as it's late late late, and I need more beauty sleep.
