January 21, 2006 - Saturday

Snowy and cold.

An okay day. Today we went out to look at an office that Fumihiko thinks I should rent as a base for my new school. It has possibilities, but the main problem is that it is too expensive. As a one person operation I couldn't possibly afford the rent. Sigh. I'm not sure what is going to happen. The location is okay. There are a few problems with the place I saw, but it's convenient for me.

After we did that I mailed off a couple of birthday cards, then we went to the mall. We first went to the hardware store where Fumihiko bought some weird thing for putting air in tyres. I think.

In the mall, we went up to the theatre and went to see Pride and Prejudice. Oh, what a great movie. I LOVED the Colin Firth BBC version, I even rewatched it on dvd a few weeks ago, and drooled all over the place, but this one put the emphasis back on Lizzie where it belongs. Keira Knightley was amazing as Miss Elizabeth Bennett. Matthew MacFayden was fine as Mr. Darcy. I found this version to be "earthy". The BBC version was very pristine, everyone was very clean and proper, but in this one there were pigs and chickens in the yard, as there would be in this kind of family situation. The Mrs Bennett character wasn't as annoying as she was in the BBC version, in this one she seemed to be a real mother and wife too.

After the movie we went to a mall restaurant for dinner. Fumihiko wanted ramen and I didn't. The restaurant was adequate. It wasn't great, but the food was edible.

Fumihiko asked if we could go and play coin games, so we did. I did okay, but got bored after a while so I gave some coins back to Fumihiko and went to the supermarket. I got some more microwave popcorn and on the way a new mouse for my computer. I just thought I'd look and see if there were any that would work on a Mac, and there were.

We came home as Fumihiko wasn't feeling well. At home he acted very strangely. Even though he was still wearing his coat, inside the apartment he complained of being too cold. He stood in front of the heater trying to warm up. He didn't manage. He checked his temperature and he said it was a little high. He's in bed now, sleeping, but not very comfortably. He keeps waking up and then mumbling something before dozing off again. I hope he'll be okay after a night's sleep.

I'm not sure what our plans will be for tomorrow. Today was good, I hope tomorrow will be too. Talk to you then? Night.
