January 27, 2006 - Friday

Snowy but not too cold.

An okay day. I overslept this morning and awoke to find a strange man in my apartment! It's okay, it was only Fumihiko, coming back to get his glasses. I was a bit surprised that I was still in bed though. I'm going to have to watch that!

After I got up, showered, and all the usual stuff I watched this morning's Charmed and did some crocheting. I've started making granny squares. I'm not exactly sure what I'll do with them, but I feel when I watch TV that I should have something in my hands. Besides, if I don't do something I usually end up snacking so that's not good. I have oodles of leftover wool from my shawl, so it'll be the three colours navy, turquoise and royal blue. I guess if I want to add other colours I'll have to buy more wool!

I spent some time on my computer today too. I am in the process of defragging it again. It really is starting to run squirrelly. I'm probably running out of memory. I'm trying to edit out photos that I don't want, and songs that I don't like from iTunes. That one is hard. I have a lot of duplicate songs, and it's impossible to get rid of duplicate songs and maintain album integrity. However, I just decided that I never listen to one "album" (can I call them that anymore?) on my iPod/iTunes, so I'll try to keep one version of each song. There are a few cases where I'm ditching duplicate songs, but the versions are different. For example, The Barenaked Ladies have one version of Brian Wilson on Gordon, but a different (and live) version on Their Greatest Hits cd. Some cds have the same song, but different lengths. I guess that's what I get for buying all of the different compilation cds. Oh, and another case, Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl. On her solo cd it has the naughty version where she uses a bad word. The Now 5684 version is the "clean, radio" version. So, I kept them both!

After Fumihiko came home we had a bit of a cuddle and then I cooked dinner. Tonight we had ginger pork and salad. Fumihiko had rice and we had melon for dessert. It was nice, but we needed more food as we both got hungry later. Sigh.

We went out to pay a bill at the convenience store...isn't that convenient?...and then we visited the local Book Off. It was the first time we'd gone there. We usually go to the one that's quite far off, but tonight we went to the local one. I spent an age scanning the videos (because I couldn't find the dvds at first). I ended up buying two. I got Little Voice because I think Fumihiko will like it, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer....the original movie with Luke Perry. (Sorry Susan!) I really loved that movie...I know I'm one of only three people who liked it, but I did.

We mellowed out at home. Fumihiko put on another cd and it was great. Just guitar music. He rarely plays music so it's a nice change. I usually don't like his kind of music, but maybe it's just that I haven't listened to it that much?

Anyway, today was a good day. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a good one too. Talk to you tomorrow night!

Night night.
