Hot and sunny.
An okay day, although it didn't start that way! When I first went to bed last night I realized that I was cold. I got up, grabbed my housecoat and put it on top of my towelket. That was better. Fumihiko was sleeping without any covers! I don't know how he does it. Then, this morning, the first thing I remember was a thump and the bed moving. Fumihiko had found one of my hats. It had been hidden under a chair in our bedroom. Lovely way to be awakened. NOT. He put it on top of the clean quilts. I wasn't impressed and made him give it back to me. I put it on my laundry pile. Then, while I was lying in bed trying to get back to bed he proceeded to "clean" the counter in the kitchen as loudly as he possibly could. I managed to refrain from yelling at him, but not by much.
When I finally did get up again, I checked email and then had my shower right away. Lately I've been waiting until the afternoon, but it was nice in the morning. Then, I got busy. I had to make soup! I poached the chicken breast in a bit of water and bouillion cubes, and while that was cooking, started chopping veggies. They didn't have any cauliflower last night, so I used the remainder of the cabbage from last week, an onion, a carrot that I bought specially, and some broccoli. When the chicken was cooked, I cooled it down by adding some of my spinach ice cubes to the pan, then took out the chicken and chopped it up too. It all went into the slow cooker, the water from the chicken too, and then I let it cook away.
I watched a dvd of Friends while I did all that, it took quite a while. I made a ham and cheese omelette with pesto sauce for my lunch and watched half of a really bad movie called The Last Samurai. I know what you're thinking, "That's a good movie." Nope, it isn't. It's not the movie you're thinking about. This one stars Lance Henriksen and John Saxon and takes place mostly in Africa. I haven't exactly figured out what is happening yet. I'm not sure I ever will!
When I had done the dishes I headed out. I had to mail some letters at the post office, then I headed over to the apartment via the drugstore. I had to get some drugs! No, just kidding, I was searching for Zero, a non-sugar chocolate they have here. It's not bad. I got some and then went to the school for a couple of hours.
I came back in time to meet Fumihiko after his work, but I got a c-mail from him saying that he was going to be late, probably wouldn't get home until 8 pm. Poor guy. So, I played around on my computer for a while.
When he came home I took some of the veggies out of the soup and blended them with my blender. I think it was more like liquifying them actually. I put them back in the soup. I've been doing that a lot lately and it makes the soup more creamy. It's good that way.
We had a good dinner of soup, and then yakiniku. We had a lot of veggies with it, pumpkin, zucchini and carrot, and also more cabbage, onion and other veggies from a mix we bought. It was a really nice meal. I let Fumihiko do the dishes. Aren't I nice? (Well, no, he still hates the way I do them, but that part is mutual. All I know is that I have to run around after him and clean the things he misses and that I consider to be part of the job!)
We took back our DVDs to Tsutaya. I enjoyed 50 First Dates, liked Runaway Jury and enjoyed Hellboy for it's stylishness. I planned not to rent any tonight as someone I know has to start studying for a certain test he has to try again, but I was sucked in again. I got three, all movies I haven't seen. I got Barbershop, Pulp Fiction and Kinsey. I'm not sure if hubby will even like them, but that's too bad. He has to study right?
When we came home, someone fell asleep on the chesterfield while I chopped up the remaining veggies from the yakiniku and put them in the soup. I added more curry powder too. It smells really nice. I'm going to let the slow cooker work on low all night and see how that goes. If Fumihiko wants some soup for breakfast, he can have it!
Someone is off in bed now, and it's a good thing. He looks knackered. I feel sorry for him. It's a busy time of year at the place he works.
That was my day. Not sure what I'll do tomorrow, but I might go over to the school again. That would be nice. Gotta go! Night.
