March 25, 2006 - Saturday

Sunny and cool.

This is my second attempt at writing my update. I had a great update written but my computer froze and I had to force restart and I lost it all. Sigh.

Today was good. I got up in the morning - late and did my morning stuff. I took a late shower and decided to go out. I had to wait for my computer to finish a pass at repairing permissions. Well, I tried, but it took around 45 minutes for that one time. Yikes.

I went out after 4 and biked to Ginza-dori. I went to the shop that sells stamps and scrapbooking stuff and bought a few more stamps and a bit of cardstock. I also got a new pair of scissors....deckle edged ones. Ooooo. I bought some 3-d popdots, but when I got to the counter the saleslady didn't know how much they were. She tried looking at the other ones, phoning for help, but ended up looking in 3 different books to get the price.

I took a trip down Ginza-dori after that and was a bit surprised to see so many bars. I think there's one on each street. I stopped in at Kettle One, a lovely kitchenware shop. I'm trying to find a present for my friend in Canada, but I don't think I could send one to her from there. Most of the stuff is breakable. The store has lots of glass and pottery. What isn't breakable is either too heavy or too expensive. Oh, I wish I could cook well enough to make it worthwhile buying that stuff!

I biked home after that and made it just a few minutes before Fumihiko did. Ha!

We went out for dinner. First Fumihiko suggested a new place, Big Dome. We went there, but they didn't really have anything that I could eat. We settled for a nice cup of coffee and then went to Cocos. I had hamburger and salad. It was good.

We drove to the Mall after dinner. I bought a few more sugar free chocolate bars and then went present shopping again. I didn't find anything. I looked at craft stuff, I looked at clothing and I had to keep looking for Fumihiko! If I changed the store I was in I sent him an email. He didn't get it. I could see him at the other end of the mall, but he couldn't see me. I'm not sure why he couldn't see me. I was waving, and not little lady like waves either, but big arm waves.

We went to Jusco and I sent my hubby off to buy me some sunflower seeds, since Jusco is one of the few places that sells them here. I asked him for 3 or 4 bags of sunflower seeds and a bag of walnuts. (Remember that!) I went off to the craft stuff then I went to the clothing department. I found a couple of possible things, but I wanted to check more. Just then, I saw my hubby walking by, searching for someone. (me?) We made eye contact and he kept going. I thought "What? Is he crazy?" I whistled. He didn't hear me. I called once. He didn't hear me. I ended up phoning him and asking him where he was! Even when we were on the phone he couldn't find me. Of course, it was now time to go and see the movie. Oh, and he gave me the bag of seeds and nuts. He'd gotten me one bag of nuts and one bag of seeds. Huh? How does 3 or 4 become 1? He forgot.

We walked over to the theatre and saw The Sound of Thunder. It was based on a Ray Bradbury story. It wasn't Shakepeare, but it was quite fun. I enjoyed it. It was about the perils of time travel.

After the movie we drove back to Tsuruoka and had a late supper at Tsukiya, the gyudon shop. It was okay. Then, we came home. Fumihiko is watching some really weird Johnny Depp movie and I'm re-typing this. That was my day. Tomorrow should be interesting as Fumihiko is off to a party in the evening. Party time for Helen! (Don't tell him I said that!)

Gotta go! Night.
