June 12, 2007 - Tuesday

Hot and sunny, gorgeous day.

I woke up at a goodly time this morning, but found myself not getting up at quite so goodly a time. Still, at least I got up! Ha ha ha.

I showered and didn't do a heck of a lot for a while. When it was time, I made my brunch. What did I make? Not an omelette! Surprise. I had french toast! This weekend we got a couple of kinds of lovely bread at the mall....not that plain old white stuff, so I had french toast for lunch. I really enjoyed it. I don't think I'll be making a habit out of it, but it was a nice change.

I watched 30 Days while I got ready for work. It was interesting today, to say the least. In this episode Morgan Spurlock sent a very Christian man to live with an Muslim family for a month. I was surprised that the man had no idea about Islam at all. He didn't even realize that Islam and Christianity worship the same God! He found the month away from his family to be very hard naturally, and was surprised at the reaction that he got from other non-Muslims. What I did like was the way that he changed his mind about Islam, from thinking it was a particularly violent religion to realizing that it wasn't. If all of 30 Days is as fascinating, I may have to tune in every day!

I biked over to the school. It was so hot in my classroom. It was a nasty 29.8 o Celsius. I turned on the air conditioner to cool it down, and got out the vacuum. I was busy for a few minutes. I only had one class today, and it went quite well. The student is very quiet though, but learns quickly. After class, I cleaned up and got out the stuff for tomorrow's lesson.

I biked home tonight. It was still daylight when I left the school and I definitely need the exercise! I got home quickly and hubby was surprised to see me. He'd forgotten that I was off early tonight.

When I got home, he was busy too. He was translating my party's invitation for me. I'd made one during the afternoon (I did do some work today after all!) When he finished, he emailed it back to me. I pasted it into Text Edit and played around with the layout, then decided to decorate it with some clip art. I found some on the net, and pasted it in. It's much easier talked about now, than it was to actually do it, but when I printed everything out, it looked good.

We went out for dinner to Moku Moku. We tried to go to another place first, but it wasn't open, so we went to Moku Moku. It was quite good tonight. Some days it's terrible, other days, it's great. I had chicken with cheese, Fumihiko had curry.

After dinner we went to the Max Valu for our groceries. I'm planning to cook tomorrow night and I needed something to cook. So, we'll have tandori chicken. Finally...I've been meaning to make it for ages.

We came home and I made guacamole. We ate some corn chips with guacamole and watched Monk. Tonight I think he was channeling Anthony Hopkins in The Remains of the Day. He went undercover as a butler. It was quite a funny episode. Some of them haven't been that good lately, but this one was okay.

Fumihiko went off to bed a while ago to read. He's turned off the light and is almost sleeping I'd say. Me....well. Who knows. I never feel sleepy at night. I am such a night owl. Mornings are not my thing. I just moved to the wrong country I think! I should have gone to Vegas...the city that never sleeps....or is that New York? I should have moved there too!

That's it from me. Night night!
