June 19, 2007 - Tuesday

Hot and sunny. Gorgeous day!

I managed to get up this morning and watched the news for a while. Then, I dozed for a bit. Sigh. When I woke up, I did my laundry. I was going to only do a load, then I decided on two, then I decided what the hey, I might as well do it all. Three loads of my laundry. Yay me.

I had a do nothing day around the house. I should have done stuff, but I didn't. Sue me! We had planned to make dinner at home tonight, but I got a text message from Fumihiko that said he couldn't eat after 8pm tonight as he is going to have a health check tomorrow. Sigh. On Tuesdays, I don't finish work until 8 pm, so that put an end to our plans for a nice dinner together. I reminded him that I worked late today, and told him he should go ahead and eat without me.

I watched an episode of Corner Gas during my brunch. It was darn funny. It was about giving up addictions. Brent tried to give up coffee and his mother tried to give up knitting. Neither of them were very happy. I couldn't imagine giving up either. Okay, I don't knit that much, but I do like having a crafty thing to do when I'm sitting and watching a movie at home. And don't ask me to give up my coffee! It's only decafe, but I like it.

I headed off to the school on time and opened up. It was a sweltering 29oC in the classroom. I had to run the air conditioner to cool it down. Sigh. I hope this isn't going to be a hot summer.

I had two classes tonight and I think they went quite well. One of the students told me that she'd be coming to the barbecue with her husband. Yay. I'm so glad. We're at 10 people now, and a couple more still have to tell me if they're coming.

After my last class finished I did some marking of homework and then I sent hubby a message that I was nearly done. He came to get me. He was tired, but okay. He had already eaten. He got dinner at a gyudon shop. Not so healthy, but I guess it's okay once in a while.

I asked that we go to the grocery store for me. I wanted to get something for my own dinner. I didn't feel like cooking what we had originally planned for tonight, so I decided to get something different. I got bagels, salad and an assortment of cold meats. I got a mix of roast beef, smoked duck and cha-shu.. It wasn't bad. I ate dinner as quietly as I could. I didn't want to call attention to the fact that I could eat and hubby couldn't. Poor thing.

Tonight we watched Medium and then I watched Monk. I'm still not convinced that Patricia Arquette is right for Medium, but I like her husband, and the girls are quite funny. Monk was okay tonight. Not great.

Anyway, Fumihiko headed off to bed around midnight and I should get there soon. I'll try and post this and then hit the hay. I'm never tired this time of night. It's cooler and I like being up when it's quiet.

I should go. Have a good night everyone!
