Sunny and gorgeous.
Today was a good day. I did have a hard time getting up this morning, I'm not really sure why. I think it's because I thought it was raining outside! When I got up and opened the windows it was sort of grey outside, so I just thought...oh no, and went back into sleep mode. That's my excuse anyway! I finally did get up and drank a bunch of coffee.
In the afternoon I watched yesterday's taped TV and then thought about going out. I wasn't sure I wanted to go out in the rain, but I went into my bedroom and looked out the window. It was gorgeous out there! Sunny, beautiful. Amazing actually.
So, I went out. I rode my bike to Marumatsu and had an okay lunch, then I went to the drugstore and bought a few things. I came home and waited for hubby.
He came home tonight close to 6, and we got ready for going out. I had originally thought about wearing a dress but then decided not to. I'd rather be comfortable, and I knew that Fumihiko wouldn't dress up too much anyway. I wore a black top and black pants, and curled my hair. I don't often do that, so it was my way of spiffing up!
We got to the hotel and went in. I think we were the only people having the steak buffet. It was good but....not quite what we expected. Another hotel in Tsuruoka has steak hodai and they cook the steaks in the dining area, in front of the patrons. Ours were cooked in the back and were cut in half! We could help ourselves to as many as we wanted, but for a good 20 minutes there weren't any steaks there at all. Hmm. There were a lot of other foods, and some were very good. I liked a kind of eggplant/pork thing they had. I started to feel quite unwell during dinner. I honestly don't think I'd eaten too much, as I hadn't actually eaten that much. I think I had some fried chicken that was a bit too greasy for me. I've had a lot of problems with their fried chicken in the past, but this looked a little bit different. Also, a weird thing happened to me during dinner. I got a really bad foot cramp. My foot started to hurt and it took ages before it felt better. So, we did have a nice dinner, but it wasn't quite what we expected. Still, I'm glad that we made reservations and tried it. I think we should do some things a little out of the ordinary. (PS...my husband does not like to make reservations, but he did in this case because it made dinner cheaper!)
We bought a few groceries, I'll be cooking at home tomorrow night, and then came home. I was still feeling the effects of the dinner, so I had an ancient TUMS and started to feel better.
Fumihiko wanted to watch a movie tonight, so I put on Hearts in Atlantis with Anthony Hopkins. It's based on a Stephen King novel that I really liked. The movie was good too. It wasn't as horror based as a lot of Stephen King's novels are, but there was a bit of a sci-fi angle. Anyway, we both enjoyed it. I remember there was a lot more to the book though. The movie only talked about the boy's childhood, I remember the book talked about his college days too.
And that was it. It was a quiet but nice day. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same. I do have an evening class, but that's not a problem.
Catch you tomorrow night? Adieu.
