Sunny but a little cooler all day.
A pretty good day. Fumihiko was away this morning when I got up. I think he was taking his Mum out shopping or something, I didn't ask him. I got up, showered and then got a phone call from my students' mother saying that her children couldn't come today. I was quite sad about that. I'd prepared for them last night, and left everything ready for their class. And I genuinely like the children. Oh dear.
Fumihiko came home, bringing bagels. Yay. He remembered! So, I got to work and made my should-be world famous tandori chicken salad. I chopped up the tandori chicken breast that was left over from the other night, and mixed it with North American style mayonaise. That's it! I toasted a couple of the bagels, got out the packaged salad that we bought last night, and Bob's Your Uncle....brunch. Ohhhhh, it was good. Really good. There was enough to have two bagels each. Yum yum yum.
Fumihiko wanted to take his dog to the vet for his dreaded shots. So, I did up the dishes, and then relaxed. Sadly, the vet wasn't open in the afternoon today, so he came home quickly. I found myself at my computer getting sleepier and sleepier, so I packed it in, and went and had a nap. I set my cell phone alarm so I wouldn't oversleep.
I woke up at 3:45, and then Fumihiko came in for a snuggle. He'd slept on the couch. I got up finally, ate some yogurt then went and gave my teeth a thorough flossing and brushing. Then we headed out to the dentist. Luckily today I had taken a magazine with me because the dentist was very backed up. We didn't get in to see him until 45 minutes after my appointment. Still, the whole filling proceedure went fairly well. He told Fumihiko and I that I had come in before the cavities were really bad, so they were easy to fix. That was a good thing at least. I didn't feel as numb as I did last time, probably because he froze a different side of my teeth.
We didn't have anywhere to go, and nothing to do, so we drove around a bit. We drove out to Kushibiki, to the ski hill to see the view. It was nice. We found a couple of better spots to look out at. Then, on the way back, we tried to go for dinner to Al Checcino which is the Italian place in this area, but it was full. So, we decided to go to Cocos. On the way there, we changed our minds, but the next place we thought of had closed. So, we went to M's Dining. It was okay. We both had chicken. Second time in the day.
We came home after that, and spent a relaxing evening together. I watched Cold Case and then Project Runway, with Fumihiko's blessing! He watched Project Runway too, but I'm not sure if he liked it. He kept saying it was scary. I don't know if he means that or not!
Anyway, that was my day.
Oh, one more thing. While I was in M's Dining I saw a child wearing a t-shirt with a very odd slogan. His shirt said, "Dying is a natural part of living." It's true, but it's a strange thing to put on a shirt I thought. The reason I took notice of it more than I usually would, was that today is the anniversary of the day my father died, and Fumihiko and I had just been discussing the whole topic of my father's death and his father's death. It was a little morbid for dinner conversation, but good too. The t-shirt just seemed to resonate with me. But I won't be rushing out to get one.
Night night.
