September 1, 2007 - Saturday

Cloudy and a bit cooler.

A pretty good day. I got up this morning at a decent time, showered, and waited for my husband to come home from the doctor. I watched this morning's episode of Criminal Mind. It was interesting. I'm not sure about the show. I like it, but I'm wondering if it will get better. Right now the characters don't really make much of an impact, and the cast isn't really gelling.

Fumihiko came home, told me he wasn't done at the doctor yet, and I should get myself to work! Then he left again. Argh. Still, it was okay. I left a little after 11, and instead of going to a restaurant, went to the grocery store and picked up a bit of food to take to the school.

I had a nice lunch, then got ready for my students. Classes went well today. We laughed quite a lot, which is always a good sign.

After classes I called Fumihiko and he came and got me. He was hungry because he hadn't eaten at all, so we went to McDonalds. Big mistake! The clerk made all sorts of mistakes in taking our orders. I asked for iced tea, I got iced coffee (and no cream either!), I wanted lemon and herb dressing, they only had sesame dressing for my salad, and then Fumihiko paid with a big bill and change and the clerk tried to give him too much change back. Sigh. Still, the food was okay, but I was disappointed with the coffee. I didn't want it.

We came home, and both spent time on our computers. Then, we went out finally. We had been invited to Shimi's restaurant for a party. We rode our bicycles to her restaurant because Fumihiko wanted to be able to drink. One of my ex-managers and her husband was in town, as were two of my ex-students and their children. There were a few of my ex-students there too, so it was quite fun. When my ex-students and their children arrived, their son came right over to me, and parked himself on my lap! We were all quite surprised. His mother used to bring him to my class when she came, so it's not that he didn't know me, but I haven't seen him in 3 years or so!

After the party, Fumihiko and I came home via the convenience store, then spent a quiet evening at home. Tomorrow we're meeting someone for coffee in the afternoon and then I'm not sure what we're going to do. I hope we'll be able to go to karaoke. We haven't gone in ages.
