Cool but sunny, rainy in the evening.
Today was okay. I overslept a bit, but not enough to cause any real damage to my day. I got up, showered, and spent a lot of time on my computer. I watched an episode of Numb3rs again, which I enjoyed. At 1 I watched a Jason Statham movie called Chaos on WOWOW. It wasn't bad. He played a cop who was trying to catch some bank robbers. Wesley Snipes and Ryan Phillipe were in it too. It was made in Canada. There was a scene at the end where they were walking through an airport, and I said to myself, "Hang on, that's the Vancouver Airport!" and I'm sure it was. It's all glass and steel and high-walkways, so I really think they must have filmed there. Too cool.
I did a bit of "work" in the afternoon. I've been meaning to write a letter to some students' mothers to let them know about textbooks finishing, so I wrote up a quick letter for Fumihiko to translate. I had brunch while I watched Medium today. It was about a woman who was haunted by a woman that was killed accidentally. It was very interesting.
Just before 5 I left for my school. I looked out the window and decided it wasn't raining, so didn't wear my cape. However, when I got outside it was raining. Luckily I'd brought my raincape along and I got into it quickly. I made good time to the school.
The classroom was a little cold today, so I decided to run one of the heaters. Before my first class, I chose to run an upright, electric heater. I knew it would heat up quickly, but even more importantly cool down quickly. Because my first class today was a child's lesson, I didn't want to have a hot heater sitting in the middle of the room. A few minutes before class I turned it off and I moved it to another part of the school.
My lessons all went fairly well today. The child wasn't too badly behaved. He didn't really want to sing (today was song day) and mumbled the words a bit. Well, two can play at that game, so I sang the song, but really garbled the words up. He thought that was really funny. Just before his class was over, we were discussing his homework for next class, then he started singing the song...correctly! Yay. He got it! I think me not making a big deal over the mumbling was a good thing.
My second class was really short. The student left after only 20 minutes as she had to go to Sakata for business. Wow, she's busy.
In my third class, the one with the new student, things went well. We actually went through 2 lessons. Last time he'd said it was easy, so I decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to make things more difficult, but we could maybe pick up the pace a little. It worked well for him I think. Let's hope. Fingers crossed!
After a bit of a clean up of the school, and a packing up of my mini dvd player, I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me. We had dinner in M's Dining. It was quiet and comfortable tonight. I had the same thing as last time, mustard-mayo hamburger and enjoyed it even more than before.
We stopped off at the grocery store to take back some of our old meat trays, and Fumihiko got some things for his wrestling club and his breakfast too. Then we came home.
Fumihiko made coffee, and then has spent the last 2? 3? hours translating my letter for me. He's a dear...but I daren't talk to him while he's doing it as he gets annoyed. He finds it difficult to switch from English to Japanese to English again, so I try hard to leave him alone.
Anyway, that was my day. Tomorrow, due to both lessons cancelling, I'll have no classes. I know hubby wants to go fishing...we might, or depending on the weather, we might see a movie. Our local theater has cheaper movies on the 20th, so it's a good time to go. Other than that, I have no plans. Fumihiko will have a busier day though, as he will take his mother to the doctor, and see the doctor himself.
Got to go. Night night!
