Rainy, snowy and cold all day.
This was a different sort of day! I got up before Fumihiko today. I got up because I wanted to watch the rest of Jamie's Kitchen, him because he had to go to a funeral. He was going to have some food after he got dressed, but I made him eat before he was fully dressed. Dressing and then eating is a disaster waiting to happen in my opinion! Fumihiko looked very nice, even though he was wearing a suit that's just a little bit too tight.
He left at 10 and I continued watching Jamie's Kitchen, then took a break to shower. When I finished my shower I had a bit of a nap on the couch. Sigh. I set my alarm, and had a doze. However, my alarm didn't go off, and Fumihiko came home! I'd set my alarm for the morning instead of using 24 hour clock. Ack. It was a good thing that Fumihiko came home and woke me up.
We took the wrapped presents to the post office and Fumihiko bought a box for me to put them in. We chose the biggest box because we had a lot of presents, but when we put everything in, there was tons of room left over! Fumihiko wanted to go on an immediate shopping tour of Tsuruoka, but I said no way. I sent him home for some fake "popcorn" and some plastic bags. He came back a bit later and we filled up the empty spaces quite nicely.
I had to write a quite detailed report of what was in the box and what it was worth and how much it weighed, but I got it all done. There was a lot of stuff in there. And, oh my gosh, when I sent it...it was so expensive. Still, I suppose it was cheaper than taking the presents over by myself.
Fumihiko and I then zoomed off to Gusto for a superfast lunch. I had to teach at 5 pm and it was already 4 when we got to the restaurant. I made it, but it was outside my comfort zone.
I was supposed to have 3 classes today, but only 2 happened. They did go quite well, so that was okay. In the third class, the student called to say she couldn't come so it wasn't like I was waiting and worrying about her.
After my classes I cleaned up and called Fumihiko. He came to get me and we went to Bronco, the steak restaurant not far from our house. It wasn't great. They've changed their menu and a lot of the things I liked have gone. They also don't give out free drink tickets anymore so I'm not too happy with them.
We came home via the grocery store again. I'm going to try cooking again tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'm thinking slow cooker, I'm thinking chicken breasts, I'm thinking veggies...
We watched Jamie's Cafe....do you get the feeling that we like Jamie Oliver in this family? It's true! I think he's an interesting guy. I've always loved cooking shows though. I used to be hooked on them back in Canada. I rarely did any "Cooking" with a capital C, but I like to dream about it.
And that's it for my day. It was okay. However, the snow is coming and so is the cold. I'm not looking forward to winter.
Got to go. Night night.
