December 10, 2007 - Monday

Rainy.

Today was a good day. I got up early-ish. I was a woman with a mission. I had to write more Christmas Cards. Of course, I procrastinated for ages, but then decided if I was going to go to the bank and the post office I had to hustle. I did, and managed to get a few more written. Yay me.

I biked off in the rain to the bank and got my bill paid rather easily. I went over to the post office nearby and tried to mail my cards. They were all fine, except they charged me extra for Zachary's birthday card. They said it was oversize. Sigh. I thought it didn't matter for greeting cards. I guess I was wrong. Oh well. Still, they took everything. Hurray. I have a few more to write. I'm not sure when I'll get them done.

With two big weights off my shoulders I went to S-Mall to have lunch. Somewhere along the way to the bank and post office I developed a sore neck. I get this from time to time, especially from stress. It's not pleasant and it makes moving my neck difficult.

At the mall, I tried to go to one restaurant, but it seemed they didn't see me, so I walked out after 30 seconds. I didn't feel like waiting personally. I went downstairs to Doutours and had a sandwich and a cup of cafe mocha. I felt so much better after that. I checked out the foreign foods section of the grocery store, but didn't buy anything, then headed out of the mall and back home.

I was playing games when Fumihiko came home and presented me with a wad of cash. Today was bonus day, and he gave me a bonus! Wow. I didn't expect it.

We went out very soon to order a roasted chicken for our Christmas Dinner, then we went to get kerosene. After that, we had dinner at Cocos. It was quite nice tonight. The restaurant was a bit busy, so we sat near the window. I tried making a drink that was on their menu. It turned out quite well. It was a mixture of rose hip tea (which I don't like) and orange juice plus ice and sweet syrup to taste. Mine was nice, but I didn't put enough ice in the glass.

We bought a few groceries after dinner. I'll probably cook at home tomorrow night. I don't really mind.

We came home and spent most of the evening together. We didn't watch Ugly Betty tonight, but we did tape it, so we can watch it tomorrow night if we have time. Fumihiko forgot to take the kerosene out of the car, so I left him a big note on the table about it.

I was thinking that I might be able to go to the convention that my woman's group is holding in February since I'm temporarily rich, but the distance is too far. If I don't mind paying 60,000 yen one way and taking 15 hours to get there, it's okay. Since I do mind paying that much and taking that much time off, I think I'll just pass. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm off for the evening. Today was good. Hopefully tomorrow will be too, and with any luck my neck will be back to normal. Night.
