Hot and sunny, thunderstorm late at night.
Today was a pretty good day really. I slept quite late, but not so late that my hubby was upset with me. Yay. I wasn't feeling at my best, so I asked that we just have a quiet day, which was okay with my husband too. Yay.
We went out for brunch. We planned to go to Jiro but got there and it was closed. Sigh. So, we went to Kintarosushi instead. One of the bloggers I always read had talked about going to another keiten-zushi place, so I had sushi on the brain. We went and had a good nosh. I enjoyed watching the sushi go around and around!
After our meal I suggested ice cream at McDonalds, but Fumihiko sailed right past the place in his car. So, we changed to Baskin Robbins at S-Mall. We did something there that I've never done before. We made Tanabata wishes, wrote them down and then hung them on some bamboo in the mall. It was kind of cool. I made sure mine was something appropriately mundane for public consumption. I was a little saddened to see quite a few messages about dieting. We had our ice cream...I had a cone of jamoca almond fudge, which was one of my old favourites that I haven't had in years and Fumihiko had a chocolate-mint milkshake. Afterwards we went upstairs and had a look at the dvd store. I wasn't planning to buy anything, but Fumihiko bought two dvds, both musicals! We got Hairspray and Sweeney Todd.
We came home and Fumihiko wanted to watch a dvd, but I didn't. So, he ended up having a long nap on the bed. Around 8 I went in to see if he was ready to go for dinner. We went out a bit later.
We went to Grado, the newish Italian place near our apartment. We both had pasta. I had gorgonzola penne which was yummy, and Fumihiko had something with seaweed. I tried a bit of his and it was really nice. Nice enough that I might just have it next time myself! We had appetizers, small salad, soup and dessert and coffee with our meal. It was all very delicious.
After dinner we did a quick grocery store run. I wanted to buy some yogurt and more milk. We bought some bagels too.
When we came home, Fumihiko said again that he wanted to watch a dvd, so we watched Hairspray. It was just as much fun the second time around. I enjoyed it, and afterwards watched some of the extras. I discovered that there is karaoke of the songs too. Yay. I can practice. My poor neighbours! When I put the dvd away tonight I noticed that there's another bonus disc that I haven't looked at yet. Ah ha!
So that was my day. I'm feeling quite a bit better. I didn't want to spend a whole day driving around the city, or roaming the malls, so it was good that we didn't.
