July 11, 2008 - Friday

Muggy, then rainy at night.

I knew it was too good to be true. This morning when I dragged myself out of bed, there was no news on. It was back to baseball. Sigh. I snoozed for a bit. Something weird happened along the way though. When I was hitting my snooze button, I accidentally hit the auto dial for the Canadian Embassy. Yikes! It went through and I got a recorded message...so I hung up quickly. I was half asleep so that's why it happened.

I had a nice but quiet morning/afternoon at home. I didn't watch much TV today as there wasn't much on until 2 pm.

I left for the school a little later than I wanted but it was okay. As it had been cloudy, the school wasn't an oven, just warm, so I cooled it down quickly. I checked my set up.

My first class was fine. The student came on time...did our class. When it was over I half expected someone to pick him up, but no-one came. I asked him if he rode his bike today. He did. So, I said he should go home, but when we opened the door and looked out, it was pouring! He was game to go, but I didn't think it was a good idea. I got him to call his home and arrange for someone to pick him up. He stayed at my school an extra half hour today! And the worst thing was, when his grandmother came to get him, the rain had stopped! Still, I really don't regret not letting him go.

I had a bit of a break between his class and my next student's. However, she phoned me to say she'd be late. She was about 30 minutes late. So, today I taught about the right amount of time total, but in unusual ways.

Fumihiko picked me up after work and suggested going to Cocos for dinner. That was fine with me. He had Vietnamese noodles, and gave me some to try. They were okay. I had pizza, but Fumihiko ate quite a bit of it.

We made a quick trip to the grocery store for milk and hubby's happoshu....or as I like to call it....beer. (He says it's different...I don't care...smells like beer so it's beer to me.)

Came home and I did some printing for myself for a change! Yay me. And that has basically been my day. It was quiet, but nice.

Not sure what tomorrow will be like. I have an early class and that's it for tomorrow. We may go to the mall and see a movie, I'm not sure. Catch me tomorrow and find out! Night night!
