Chapter 1
Abduction

Goten woke up late that day. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he stood up and walked to the window. "Oww!" He yelled as the glass of a broken picture frame pierced his bare foot. Rubbing his foot, Goten sat back on the bed and stared at the broken picture of his father lying on the ground. He slowly made his way to the shattered frame and picked it up. As he held it in his hands, he remembered how mad he was when had broken it.

"I'm his own son!" He had yelled as Chi Chi ran after him.
"Goten you know your dad loves you. He just has his own priorities."
"Yeah and I'm not in them, huh?"
"Goten," Chi Chi started with a sigh.
"What? Who do you know besides dad that doesn't stay with the people he loves? Hey, even Vegeta stays with Bulma, Trunks, and Bra!"
Goten had slammed his door and sat on his bed. Anger and jealousy swelled up in him. He turned and looked at the picture of his dad that he had owned ever since he was a kid. Feeling the betrayal of his father's actions, Goten had thrown the picture into the wall.
Why can't I ever get his attention?, he thought to himself. Goten had been angry with his dad ever since he had started training with Uubuu four months ago.
When Gokou chose to teach Uubuu all that he knew instead of him, Goten was not too hurt. He felt there was no reason to train because his father had beaten all of the strongest beings in the universe. And because the world was safe, he could have more time talking to and spending time with girls.
It was only when he found out that that he would only be able to see his dad for a couple days a month that made him angry. When Goten was born his father had already been killed by Cell. As a child Goten had been told of his father's strength and unstoppable will, he was saddened by the fact that he would never be able to see his "daddy". The closest father figure Goten had, was his brother Gohan, but even though having Gohan around to teach him how to fight and fly, it was not substitute for Gokou.
Goten's big chance finally came when he was 5. It was when Gokou was able to come back from heaven for 24 hours. Goten had been given the chance to see his father for the first time. Goten smiled as he remembered how nervous he was when he first saw his "daddy". He looked just like him, only older. He was so strong and…happy. At first he didn't trust him but in those 24 hours with the threat of Majjin Buu, he saw just how truly legendary his father was.
Goten then frowned as he remembered how much he cried after his dad had to leave and go back to heaven. Goten never really understood how, but his dad came back to live with them again. He came back to his sons, his wife, and his training. Goten had finally gotten his dream; Goten had a father for the first time.
Now over 12 years later, Goten found himself again missing his father. He felt cheated that even though his dad was back in this world, nothing had changed. He was still gone.
First it was Buu; Gokou put all of his time into his training. Which was understandable (how many fathers did he know who could save the world?), but after he beat Buu, he decided to train his reincarnation! Goten had had enough. Now at the age of 17 he had already dismissed the idea of him and his father ever having father and son talks, going to baseball games or even just sitting down and talking about school. It seemed that all Gokou wanted was to fight and get stronger.

Goten sat up and looked at the picture. In the picture, Gokou was in top shape with muscles rippling all over his body. It was hard for Goten not to be amazed by him. The picture was taken before Cell game and Gokou still looked the same almost 20 years later. Looking at his dad's goofy smile reminded Goten that his dad never meant any harm. He knew that Gokou wasn't a big thinker and just never thought about his feelings. Goten dropped the picture back onto the ground and went to go eat breakfast.
In the kitchen eating was his brother Gohan and his family. Goten hugged his niece Pan as she ran up to him, "How you doin Pan?"
Pan smiled, "Goten! Goten! We are finally going to Magic World!"
Gohan looked up and smiled at his little brother through his thick glasses. Goten couldn't help to smile, sometimes his brother looked like a dork.
"Yep, after Pan asked over and over again I had to give in."
Vindel got up and hugged her husband, "It was tough getting him away from all those books, but now that it is summer we are going on vacation!"
Goten slapped his head as he remembered that he was supposed to meet Trunks at 3:00. He sat up from his dining chair and asked, "Umm, does anyone know what time it is?"
Gohan looked at his watch, "It's 2:50. Why?"
Goten answered, "Because I have to meet Trunks at the park at 3:00."
Chi Chi looked at Goten, "I don't want you to leave the house without eat-"
Goten was sitting down stuffing his face with food before Chi Chi even finished. She smiled as she watched him eat. Goten looked so much like Gokou sometimes. Chi Chi quietly walked into her room and sat on her bed. She knew how much Goten needed his father. She also needed Gokou around more. She couldn't raise Goten by herself. She had just raised Gohan, and didn't have the strength to run around and stop the boy from fighting. She wasn't getting any younger and normal day to day activities began to get harder and harder. Tears started to roll down her face as the reality of the situation hit her hard. Her family needed a father and a husband more than they would ever admit."

Trunks sat waiting impatiently for Goten to arrive. As he looked at his watch for the hundredth time, he saw that his friend was almost an hour late. "Where is he?" He said to himself.
Trunks couldn't help but to remember all the times his friend was irresponsible. Sometimes Trunks thought he was a lazy, self adsorbed, unmotivated, baby. Ever since they were kids, they were best friends and Trunks was sad that even though he had grown up, he had never changed his unflattering ways.
"Hi!"
Trunks snapped his head up at the sound of the female voice. He saw a cherry red convertible full with beautiful women calling him over. Trunks looked around, still no sign of Goten. Trunks smoothed out his short lavender hair and walked over to the car. "Hello ladies, how are you doing?" He said in his most charming voice.
An extremely beautiful red head wearing dark sunglasses looked him up and down. She smiled and licked her lips with satisfaction, "Hi sexy, do you want to go for a ride?"
The other girls in the car started giggling uncontrollably. Trunks looked back at the spot where he was supposed to meet Goten, still no sign of him. Trunks smiled at the girls, "Sure!"
The girls cheered with triumph as Trunks hopped in the convertible. As Trunks sat down amongst the beautiful women he completely forgot who Goten was, let alone his meeting with him.

Goten landed and looked around after his friend, "Trunks? Hey, Trunks I'm sorry I'm late!"
Out of the corner of Goten's eye he saw a bright flash of light. Goten frowned as he had a bad feeling about the origin of the light. Goten ran around the corner to investigate. Just as he turned the corner he saw a tall, dark man walk out of what seemed to be a portal. Goten stepped back into attack stance. He knew that might not have had as much fighting experience as his brother Gohan, but he knew he could hold his own against any moderate threat.
The man was about 45 years old, 6' 8", had short, spiky, purple hair, and had muscles rippling under his dark blue and white karate uniform. Goten flinched as he noticed the light from the portal was so blinding that he had to shield his eyes. Goten, fighting all of his instincts to go run for backup, stood his ground and yelled to the man, "What do you want?"
The man smiled, and before Goten could even move, grabbed him. "You."
Goten struggled and fought the man's grip. Goten was overwhelmed, he knew that he was strong enough to shatter a boulder, so why couldn't he break out the man's grip? The man turned Goten to the portal. Goten screamed no, in horror as he was thrown in. The man looked at his surroundings. Earth was as beautiful as he had remembered it. The dark man wiped his hands and looked toward the clouds, "I hope it was worth it."
When the man jumped in the portal, the portal closed tight, sealing the only entrance after Goten.
The wind blew moderately and the park seemed as normal as ever. High in the sky the birds sang, and the grass swayed with the rhythm of the wind. Half the world away a man named Gokou stopped fighting and rose his hand to his pupil.
Uubuu stopped fighting with his master, and cocked his head with curiosity, "Master, why did we stop training?"
Gokou closed his eyes, and focused hard. After about a three minutes he gave up. Uubuu looked at his master's grim face with worry, "Master, what is it?"
Gokou looked at his student, "My son. My son Goten is gone. I can't feel his ki anywhere."
