Chapter 4
The Tape
Bra got up and sat the furious Goten down. It was clear that Goten would not believe what was said to him without evidence. She reached into a drawer as she explained to Goten what the tape was, "Toruku is evil. Not only would he beat, torture, insult, and humiliate his opponents he would also record the fights."
Bra pulled out a tape, "He used a super powered camera that you had given him on his birthday and one of his slaves to do it. After killing an opponent he watched the death over and over again laughing like a sick, bastard. Well, after Gokou became his prisoner he no longer needed to fight and he discarded the tape. Uubuu stole it to study his techniques."
Bra put the tape in the tape player, "This tape has every single one of his fights with all of the Z team. From Chaozu to Gokou. See for yourself." Bra pushed the play button and left the room with Uubuu. Goten was afraid to look at the screen at first but the sounds of battle commenced and eventually his curiosity took over.
Goten watched in horror as the sliver colored, black haired, alien that Bra had described perfectly, started fighting with the weakest of all the Z team, Chaozu. Goten clinched his fists as he watched Toruku play and insult the small doll like man. Goten figured that Toruku had about 30 times the power of Chaozu without powering up, and still he slapped him and humiliated him as the little man was helpless.
Goten watched how Chaozu in anger and desperation used every single attack, block, and special move he knew to protect himself. Toruku laughed, "You little piece of snot, do you really think those tiny, things you are throwing at me that you have the nerve to call fireballs can actually hurt me? My, you are even stupider, not to mention uglier, than I ever thought possible. Now let me take care of you exactly the way you deserve it."
Toruku flicked Chaozu with his finger and sent him flying into the ground. Chaozu looked up bloody, and in obvious pain. Not knowing who or where he was he called out to his best friend, "Tien."
Toruku landed hard on his small chest breaking his ribs and crushing his internal organs, "Yes, his turn will come soon."
Chaozu held on to his life the best he could, "You bastard, leave him alone."
Toruku frowned and then smiled, "Well, that wasn't very nice. But, hey like I always say, treat people well and you will be treated well. I, unlike you, love to be nice. I also love to give presents," he turned to his servant holding the camera, " Reiko, bring me Chaozu's special little present."
Goten watched as a large box was given to Toruku. Toruku smiled as he opened the box. From the camera man's angle Goten couldn't see what was in the box. But as Toruku lifted Chaozu's broken and bloody body and put it into the box, he heard Chaozu scream in pure terror and pain for the first time. A scream that made Goten shiver and feel sick, a scream that was followed by a loud, disgusting laugh from Toruku.
After 6 minutes of Chaozu's constant screaming, it suddenly stopped. Toruku commanded Rekio to come and videotape Chaozu's dead body. Goten almost threw up at the sight before him. There had to be about 20 different kinds of poisonous snakes in the box still biting him and trying to eat his flesh. Chaozu who used to be a pale white color was now partly decomposed. Parts of his insides were showing and his eyes bulged out of his head. All of the venom in his body turned him a yellowish brown color. There was a green liquid slowly running from his nose, mouth and eye sockets. Chaozu had not died quickly and he had died in extreme pain.
Goten turned off the tape as he heard Toruku laugh louder and harder. His head was spinning, "This guy is a monster! If there was anyone who needs to die, it's this punk."
The hate in Goten for Toruku rose as he watched him, insult, humiliate and eventually torture and kill Yamcha, then Tien, and then Krillin. He made sure to make them mad with rage and show him all their moves before he tortured them. Goten shook with rage as he saw the horrible way he killed his friends.
He would always kill the Z warriors differently, he tied an almost beaten to death Yamcha to a steel table and he was forced to watch a slow moving saw rip through his body before he died. He locked a bloody Tien in the room of his best friend's carcass and watched as Tien cried in anger at his best friend's dead body in front of him. As soon as Tien touched Chaozu's body he dropped into a pit of sharks and was ripped apart.
Toruku had extra fun with Krillin. Toruku threw a bloody and hurt Krillin into a small dark room. Krillin flinched with pain every time he moved. He had no more power left, and was constantly in pain. Suddenly, as a light showed his daughter Marrion sitting in a seat on the other side of the room facing away from him. Krillin could barely say her name, "M…Marrion?"
Marrion called out to him, "Daddy? Daddy is that you?"
Krillin forced himself to run to his daughter, but just as he was about to touch and comfort her, a blade came out of the wall and cleanly cut off her head. Goten threw up on the floor as Krillin screamed in absolute pain in seeing his one and only daughter die. Krillin yelled to Toruku, "You fucking bastard! I'll have your blood for this!"
Suddenly, a noose dropped from the ceiling and wrapped around Krillin's neck. It pulled him into the air choking the short man. Just as Krillin thought he was going to die from strangulation, he got enough energy to shoot the rope and break himself out of Toruku's trap. Krillin found out he didn't even have enough energy to fly and fell uncontrollably to the ground. As Krillin heard Toruku's laughter over the intercom of the room a trap door on the ground opened and he fell into a pool of blood. Toruku laughed as he called out to the drowning Z warrior, "I think it is fitting that you drown in the blood of your dead friends! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
Goten had tears in his eyes as he saw eventually saw Krillin stop moving and sink into the pool of blood. He accidentally powered up as the rage in him wanted to explode. Not even halfway into the tape he had had enough. But he forced himself to watch, to get smarter, to get harder, and so that one day he could kill the evil man named Toruku.
Bra turned to Uubuu showing worry on her face, "Do you really think it was a good idea to show him the tape? Don't you think it would be a big shock to him? You have to remember that he's been getting soft. We took him out of a time of peace and thrown him into war."
Uubuu looked at her, "We had to. We don't have the time to play around here. Our future is already as dead as this world. We have to make sure that it never happens in his future."
Bra nodded and checked her watch, 3:56 a.m. Goten had been in the room now for over 12 hours watching a 7 hour tape. She decided to check up on him. Bra slowly opened the door and looked inside, "Goten are you ok? "
Bra's nose crinkled as she smelled the smell of Goten's throw up. She walked deeper into the room, and saw that the tape was still on playing. She stopped and watched the tape play repeat again and again the part when Gokou, filled with tears in his eyes, put down his head and said, "I promise," to Toruku.
Suddenly, Bra felt a chill as she walked to the center of the room. She was surprised to see that Goten had blown a hole into the outside. Bra's set off the alarm and she yelled to Uubuu, "Goten's gone! Goten's gone! We have to get him!"
Goten flew out in the full moon with rage overcoming him. As he flew over a city full of people he shook his head and thought to himself, for a world that's called Dead Earth there sure is a lot of people.
Suddenly a searchlight hit him and large futuristic manga like helicopters and planes suddenly surrounded him, "Give us your badge number immediately or die."
Goten yelled at the helicopters, "I don't have a badge number so I guess I'll have to settle for choice number 2. I'll let you live if, and only if, you tell me where Toruku is!"
Goten had to dodge as lasers instantly opened fire on him. Goten shot fireballs back at his attackers to disable them. He was surprised to see that his fireballs just bounced off the machines armor like they were nothing. Goten screamed in pain as a laser shot through his arm taking a large chunk of it. Goten's rage then exploded. In a burst of power, found deep within him Goten screamed as it surged throughout his body. All of the helicopters and airplanes lost control and crashed to the Earth. Goten sat in the clouds alone wondering what had happened.
Blood quickly ran out of his wound and Goten began to feel faint. Goten flew down to the city to see if he could get some help. As his feet hit the bottom he was surrounded by hundreds of warriors armed to the teeth. Goten looked around as they all pointed their weapons at him, "Umm, how about if I just come back later?"
Goten jumped into the air just as the warriors shot their weapons at him. He started shooting fireballs at them to keep them at bay, but it seemed every time he killed one, seven more would show up in his place.
Goten, fighting through the hundreds of warriors, was getting damaged. Not only was he getting hit every second, he didn't think he had enough energy to beat them all in a chase. Beaten up, bloody, and injured Goten kept on fighting and used his energy to stay alive.
Suddenly, he couldn't take it anymore. He jumped into the air high above the mob of warriors, "Kame--"
His hands quickly went to his sides to focus the power, "hame--"
He focused the energy into a ball and turned to his assailants, "Haaaaaaa!"
An enormous beam of energy destroyed the buildings and the hundreds of warriors. Goten looked around, and saw nothing but the empty damaged buildings. Goten flew to the ground and fell to one knee in pain. He now had lost a lot of blood and used too much energy. He was so tired he didn't even want to stand.
Suddenly, the searchlight again came on him. A mid 30's tall, muscle packed man walked toward him. Goten got up off his knee and got into fighting stance ready to again fight. The man greeted him, "My name is Charnos. I am the General of the Army of Toruku. I saw you use your attack. It was pretty good. There aren't a lot people like you anymore, boy. And if my master Toruku or his number 1 Turles, didn't finish your kind off, then I would be more than happy to do so. Saiyian."
