Essay #1: I lost this essay due to reformatting my hard drive... Grade: B- Okay, I thought I wrote this awesome paper. It was returned to me with a B- stamped on it, so I worked my tail off on the next paper... |
Essay #2: I lost this essay due to reformatting my hard drive... Grade: A I worked really hard on this essay. I must have reread and reedited eleven times... okay, maybe not eleven, but defintely four. |
Essay #3: Write a 5-paragraph problem/solution or "How something works" essay Grade: A- I was completely lost on what to write for this paper until the day after the rough draft was due. yeah, I didn't get my rough draft done in time, but we never hand those in, that deadline is more so that we can workshop them and then have enough feedback to write a 2nd draft. I talk to my teacher and she reworded the question for me. I didn't really know how anything mechanical works, and I didn't really see a problem with anything small enough to argue in a 1000 word max paper... I ended up writing about how a Film is made. |
Essay #4: Write a 5-paragraph essay responding to any selection from Barbara Clouse's "Transitions" Grade: N/A (hasn't been graded yet) This essay was fun to write. I responded to several essays dealing with bioengineering and genetically altered/engineered foods. It ended up being 7 pages long and I only really lightly touched on all the different points I needed to discuss, but with an 1800 word limit, it's kinda tough to write a decent paper. I still ended up going over by 60 words, but I figured she wouldn't have a problem with that. My teacher told me she enjoys reading my papers, so I guess that's a good thing... |
Final Exam: N/A (haven't taken this yet) |
