U Unassisted Putout Umpire (also referred to as "Blue") A person appointed to rule on plays; As a referee. Umpires are responsible for interpreting and enforcing the rules of play. They rule on the results of each playfor example, an umpire determines when a player is out. Umpires have complete authority over the game. They may eject from the game players, managers, or coaches who break rules of conduct.
Unassisted Putout A putout made by a fielder without an assist. UNCLE CHARLIE A curve ball UTILITY PLAYER A player who fills in many positions.
