The Neopets auctions are a way to sell your stuff that will allow you to set a minimum price and how lon you wish to sell them for. Whoever bids the highest on your item will receive it.
The Auction house is located in the shops, click the hammer or on the auction house.
So you want to put an item in the auctions? Make sure that you are absolutely sure you want to put the item in the auctions, because once it is in the auctions you can not get it out again. Click on the shops, then on your items. Click on the item that you want to put up for auction. A new window should appear on your screen. Select the "put up for auction" option, and press submit. Then enter your minimum price, how much you want the increments to be, and how long you want the auction to last. Once finished, submit it, and go back to your items to verify that it is in the auctions.
You want to bid on an auctioned item? Good for you, you seem to be getting the hang of it. Go to the auction house, or click on a user's auction link from their lookup. Click on the item you want and enter how much you wish to bid on the item and "place bid". If it is not accepted, you can go back and edit your price. If you have placed the highest bid at the end of the auctions time you will receive the item once the process has closed, be patient since this can take up to 24 hours. Remember to keep enough money for the item on you since if you do not have enough money to pay for it, it will go to the next highest bidder.
What? No one bid on your item? Well, then it will return to your inventory after the auction has closed.
One of the benefits is that usually your item goes quickly because you don't have to have the lowest price, you just have to give enough time for people to think you do. I do not have much success in the auctions, but I am addicted to purchasing from there, so I have been avoiding them.
