MTV's Total Request Live SUCKS!!!
In the December 20 issue of Time magazine they had the best & worst of 1999 in the arts section. For music, you know what #1 was? Rage Against the Machine The Battle of Los Angeles. Everyone, I bought that CD the first day it came out, and it ROCKS!!! All their other CDs rock too, but this is a new one. There are songs I haven't heard before on it. New is good. You know why they said it was the best? Because they're Time, and if you aren't completely original then you don't get any love from Time. Plus they're political, and that's a good way to get a good review from them. But here's the reason, according to the magazine:
"Because Tom Morello--who can make his guitar sound like a harmonica, a pair of turntables, or a street uprising--is the most thrilling guitarist in rock today. Because rapper-singer Zack de la Rocha mixes poetry and polemics into song lyrics that would do Chuck D or Bob Dylan proud. Because in a year in which a riot of rockers copped beats from hip-hop, no other band made the rap-rock union resonate with such ferocity and intelligence."
Now tell me, are you really surprised? I'm not. The rest of the list looked like this:

But TRL and it's fawning host Carson Daly overplay bad teeny-pop videos and create an atmosphere that drives away viewers who might request a more substantial fare. TRL is killing good pop music."
Well folks, why don't you chew on that for a while? I bet you guys didn't even read it. I bet you've never read a single issue of Time in your life! You probably read Time for Kids once while in school, and you probably skipped all the good stuff and went straight to the entertainment part of it. Shows how smart you guys are.
