The Flanders's house is demolished by a hurricane and, without homeowners' insurance, Ned and his family move into the church basement. There, he learns that the Leftorium was looted in the storm's aftermath. The people of Springfield gather to rebuild Ned's house. When it is finished, Ned inspects their work, and, finding poor workmanship, angrily berates everyone who helped rebuild the house. Feeling that he is having a total breakdown, Ned commits himself to a mental institution. Dr. Foster, Ned's childhood psychiatrist, treats Ned and discovers that Ned's past therapy has taught him to suppress his anger rather than use in constructively. Using Homer as a role model, Dr. Foster teaches Ned to express angry feelings. Cured once again, Ned returns home. |
