In a show hosted by Troy McClure, a trio of spin-offs features "The Simpsons" characters. "Chief Wiggum, P.I." Chief Wiggum is a New Orleans detective and Principal Skinner is "Skinny Boy," his associate. A mysterious crime figure named Big Daddy kidnaps Wiggum’s son, Ralph. Chasing Big Daddy through the streets of New Orleans, Wiggum recovers Ralph, but lets Big Daddy slip away, certain he’ll meet the villain again. "The Love-matic Grampa." The show’s opening theme song explains how Grampa’s soul got lost on the way to heaven and ends up inhabiting the Love Tester machine at Moe’s Tavern. Thanks to coaching from Grampa, Moe lands a date with a brassy brunette named Betty. Wanting Grampa’s advice on his date, he brings the Love Tester to the restaurant, hiding it in the men’s room. Betty discovers Moe’s scheme, but is flattered by his efforts to impress her. "The Simpson Family Smile-Time Variety Hour." The entire Simpson family clan, except Lisa, participates in this series of musical comedy skits, joined by special guest Tim Conway, playing a clan of beavers and 1950s teenyboppers. |
