Season Two

201 - Rocketship X-M:
Kevin Murphy replaces Josh Weinstein as Servo, while Frank Conniff becomes Dr. Forrester's new side kick. The movie is a downer but the riffing is all around solid. Host segments are okay. The classic "Funny/Not Funny Flying" skit holds up well today. B+

202 - Sidehackers:
Another movie I have a hard time getting through. The jokes are up and down in the theater, though I received big laughs from the musical skits. B-

203 - Jungle Goddess:
With short: The Phantom Creeps part 1 - Gee-wiz, another hard to watch movie. Goddess at least has a few wacky scenes that lighten the load. There are nice quips overall, and a good tag line with the "french fried poatao" bit. Host segs were silly and obvious. B-

204 - Catalina Caper:
This week we get a bright color film from the 1960s and yet, it's even less fun than the others! It has the creepy girl and Tommy Kirk, but this dumb forced comedy receives very weak riffing. One of my least favorite episodes from this season D+

205 - Rocket Attack U.S.A:
With short: Phantom Creeps part 2 - Another downer of a movie is loaded with so many goofy characters and bad acting tht it can't help but succeed. Though the riffing isn't spectacular, it is normally steady and clever. USA also has the best skits of the season at this point. Mike shows up as Joel's Russian counterpart and the McCarthy hearing sketch is a classic. B+

206 - Ring of Terror:
With short: Phantom Creeps part 3 - The picture quality of the movie makes it difficult to see. The characters and quips make it the best episode from Season 2. The jokes do not have a lot of variety, but they pack a lot of punch. Most of the riffing concerns the age of the College students in the movie. Despite this narrow path, the Best Brains make very quip count. The Host Segments, which often parody the film are equally as good. Frank gets to sing a song and Gypsy passes out during an autopsy on Mr. Hoover. Wonderful experiment. A

207 - Wild Rebels:
Season 2 continues the strong string of episodes with this delight. Colorful bikers are infiltrated by a wienie with a guitar. There's a lot of wit in the humor as both theater and skit-work provide ample laughs. A-

208 - The Lost Continent:
Rock climbing! Booooooring flick but it is accompanied by many quality lines. Most of them, obviously, concerning rocks (Like when the cast is bedding down for the night, Joel makes a joke about short sheeting their rocks). Host segments include a funny visit from Hugh Beaumont. B-

209 - Hellcats:
So-so effort on another bad Ross Hagan biker movie. The first half is stronger than the last. Host Segments rehash old bits. C

210 - King Dinosaur:
With short: X marks the Spot - The Brains riff on their first instructional short and do a ripping good show of it. The comedy written for the feature is equally as good. The sketches are strange and offers the infamous "Joey the Lemur" segment. B+

A cool poster from Poland for "First Spaceship on Venus"

211 - The First Spaceship on Venus:
This colorfull foreign film receives a fair MSTing. I never reached the point where I "laughed so hard that I wet them"; and the host segments are variable (bots making bots is fun, but a visit from a gorilla isn't) C+

212 - Godzilla Vs. Megalon:
The riffing is nowhere near top 10 material so it boggles my mind how this is so adored by the masses. It's not their smartest, funniest effort in the theater. I want to laugh but this doesn't deliver the goods. The host segments on the other hand, are stunning and are what makes this experiment special. B-

213 - Godzilla Vs. the Sea Monster
There is much improvment in the theater for this one. They at least make clever observations and tap into the pop culture references well (clever humor is what sets these guys apart, and clever humor is what makes me laugh). The host segments are good, though not as good as last weeks. B+
