Season Five

501 - Warrior of the Lost World:
Good way to open the season. Bland post apocalyptic tale is decently riffed. Features Megaweapon, Donald Pleasence, The bald chick from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and the "Paper Chase" guy.  B

502 - Hercules:
The final Hercules movie is the best. With delightful skits like Joel's "Instant Karma", and great riffing. "I Love my dead Greek son".  B+

503 - Swamp Diamonds:
With short: What to do on a Date - While it is great to have a Beverly Garland movie, this one harkens back to the bland, dry efforts seen in the first weeks of season 4. The short has a few moments but overall this is a weak one.  C

504 - Secret Agent Super Dragon
Slow moving spy story has a few high water marks, yet for the most part this is an average experiment.  B-

505 - The Magic Voyage of Sinbad:
Another Russian classic, this begins Season fives hot stretch. Much mirth and merriment is had from the smart observational style of the jokes.  A-

506 - Eegah:
The Arch Halls,  Richard Kiel,  bad music,  watch out for snakes.  Oh how sweet it is.  A+

507 - I Accuse My Parents:
With Short: The Truck Farmer - Supreme riffing on a movie that offers up so much. The character of Jimmy with his boozy parents,  essays,  lying,  mob ties and shoe sales.  This is a can't miss classic.  A+

508 - Operation Double 007:
An improvment over Super Dragon; this experiment stars Sean Connery's brother and a bunch of Bond vets. Skits are enjoyable and the comedy is tight.  A-

509 - The Girl in Lovers' Lane
Depressing movie give us Big Stupid and Crow's -spot on- Jack Elam imitation. Despite the tearful ending the jokes hold it up well.  A-

510 - The Painted Hills:
With short: Body Care and Grooming - How many Grade A episodes can season 5 give us? Joel is surely going out on top. This family tale about a boy and his dog is quipped with brilliance. Crow's host segment look at the life of President Hayes is a laugh riot and the short is another winner.  A

511 -Gunslinger:
Roger Corman teams up with Beverly Garland once again. And this western receives the funniest riffing of the bunch.  A-

512 - Mitchell:
Joel's sad farewell is one of the greatest episodes in MiSTory. Joe Don Baker takes a hilarious beating. It's all about the beer and the baby oil - Noooo!  A+

513 - The Brain That Wouldn't Die
Mike's first day on the job (at least as host) is a strong one. A brutal, dark movie to have to start with; but bright humor is evident throughout.  A-

514 - Teen-age Strangler:
With short: Is This Love? - This is a great double header. A short with a Romulan and the feature with a geek named Mikey. Oh yeah, and he didn't steal no bike neither!   A-

515 - The Wild World of Batwoman
With short: Cheating - Wow, what a terrible movie, it hurts so bad that not even Mike and the bots can make it bearable. The short at least, is one of the best ever.  C

516 - The Alien From L.A.
A piss poor Kathy Ireland adventure that lacks charm. The host segments are the best part of this episode.  C+

517 - The Beginning of the End:
Giant locusts attack Illinois! Everything about this episode is a big!  A+

518 - The Atomic Brain:
With short: What About Juvenile Delinquency - The short is the strength of the experiment. The movie, which is about a crazy old lady who wants to be young at any cost, has its moments as well.  B

519 - Outlaw:
This award winning episode gives us Cabot and Jack Palance in a land of swords and sorcery. While there are a couple of slow spots, most of the experiment provided humor in droves.  A-
One of many in the "Gor" series of novels by John Norman...

520 - Radar Secret Service:
With short: Last Clear Chance - Big grins invaded my face while watching this experiment. The nightmarish short furnished rollicking laughs and the main feature was equally as good.  A-

521 - Santa Claus:
Santa is a scream. This frightning childrens story is so kooky and has such an oddball cast of characters (Santa Vs. Satan with the help of Merlin?), that it can't fail. Freakish fun.  A+

522 Teen Age Crime Wave:
The host segments are among their best. Frank is fantastic as Doughy Man (I was literally squeezing tears out my eyes from laughing so hard). The wisecracks during the theater segments are just as rewarding and draw from the situations and characters astutely.  A

523 - Village of the Giants:
This is an altogether cracked film experience. Bert I. Gordon, Tommy Kirk, Beau Bridges, a giant duck barbeque, Ron Howard makes goo, the Beau Brummels, A women who tongues the universe. What's not to love. A

524 - 12 to the Moon:
With short: Design For Dreaming - A cockeyed musical short sets things in motion, while the quipping on the movie (liberally borrowed from when they did "Space Mutiny") is out of this world. A
