Season Six

601 - Girls Town
Slang slinging teenage spirit is fully explored. Great cast headlined by Mamie Van Doren.  B+

602 - Invasion, U.S.A.
With short: A Date With Your Family - This ominous morality tale uses fear as a blunt force instrument. The best part of this episode is the first-rate short.  C+
The Cheesecake publicity shot of stars Peggy Castle & Noel Neill comes from Conelrad.com

603 - The Dead Talk Back
With short: The Selling Wizard - Acceptable losses: The movie is murder to sit through, but at least I die laughing.  B

604 - Zombie Nightmare
Hey! Hey! This movie has Adam West and a gang of spoiled punks. I wish all nightmares were this funny.  A+

605 -Colossus and the Headhunters:
Strongman saves a few heads and wins the heart of a Queen.  B

606 - The Creeping Terror:
Killer rug from outer space! This is one of the top 5 worst films ever shown on MST3K. It's an idiotic story, but at least the riffing is smart.  B

607 - Bloodlust:
With short: Uncle Jim's Dairy Farm - Hey teen gang, wanna go hunting? Robert Reed stars in this nicely riffed tale of four friends trapped on an island with a madman. The short is farm fresh and funny too.  B-

608 - Code Name: Diamond Head:
With short: A Day At The Fair - Terrific work on the short, and a commendable effort put forth on the forgettable, dry, spy flick. (Zulu was fun to watch, at least).  B-

609 - Skydivers:
With short: Why Study Industrial Arts - Coleman Francis enters our nightmares. Funny movie, the short is pure brilliance. Only the host segments are a let down.  B+

610 - The Violent Years:
With short: Young Mans Fancy - Another nice double shot. Both the squishy short and the Ed Wood written movie are riffed to perfection.  A+

611 - Last of the Wild Horses
Frank and Dr. Forrester in the theater! Evil Mike and bots in a Star Trek parody! A western whose essential plot point involves people finding dropped objects! Did I die and go to heaven?  B+

612 - Starfighters
Refueling and poopie suits. Cripes this is the most "nothing" of a movie the guys ever worked on. I've gotta salute them though, somehow they wrung laughs out of it.  B+

613 - The Sinister Urge:
With short - Keeping Clean and Neat - Ed Wood Vs. Smut. The people who work in the dirty picture industry are a colorful lot and easy to make fun of.  A

614 - San Francisco International
There's so much heavy meleodrama at the airport it's amazing we get where we're going. Five-star cast includes a mushy David Hartman and a smug Pernell Roberts.  B+

615 - Kitten With A Whip:
I'm not sure why, but this isn't the smoothest riffing they have ever done. There are choice jokes, but it's uneven. They've worked on tougher films (Starfighters, Manos), and yet it seems at times this movie stumped them.  C

616 - Racket Girls:
With short: Are You Ready For Marriage? - After a virtuoso performance on the short and skits to open the episode. The astonishingly dull movie thwarts the Brains best efforts.  C

617 - Sword and the Dragon:
Epic saga of a Russian hero is full of adeventure, imagination and big laughs.  A

618 - High School Big Shot
With short: Out Of This World - What a wacky short, as a Breadman is tempted by an Angel, on a bet made with a Devil! The movie is unsparing in its bleak, depressing story. Marvin is a smart teen who loves a woman so bad, he'd steal for her. Despite the darkness, the riffing is a riot.  A-

619 - Red Zone Cuba:
With short: Platform, Poasture and Appearance - I was disappointed in the work done with this one. The quips on the short are thin, and the horrid film is beyond help. Cuba is not an episode I have much fun with, or receive many laughs from.  D+

620 - Danger! Death Ray!
Now this, on the other hand, furnished a lot of joy and laughter. The toys, the catchy theme and a Death Ray that was created to promote peace? Priceless.  B+

621 - The Beast of Yucca Flats:
With shorts: Money Talks, Progress Island U.S.A. - Fantastic, simply fantastic. I received non-stop laughter, despite having to sit through a movie that is so bad, so dry and boring, that I can't beleive it didn't break the Brains spirits. Opens with two excellent shorts.  A+

622 - Angels Revenge:
I really hate the 70s when it comes to MST3K. The 40s and 50s had a certain charm, the 60s were colorful and hip, but 70s fare was empty, souless - - drab.  B-

623 - The Amazing Transparent Man:
With short: The Days of our Years - What a dark, painful, hopeless short - - I LOVED IT! Watching a small animal disappear in the movie is a kick in the pants too.  B

624 - Samson Vs. the Vampire Women
Say it isn't so! This can't be Frank's last show! Things well never be the same, the host segments will never be as wonderful. At least he goes out strong, with a Mexican wrestler movie.  A
