Season Eight

801 - Revenge of the Creature:
New network, new Crow. The work isn't their best but it's decent enough.  B-

802 - The Leech Woman:
It only took a week to get back into form. The Brains click on this dark tale.  A

803 - The Mole People:
Hugh Beaumont, John Agar and a load! The riffing didn't strike me at a non stop pace. But there are some great riffs here and there.  B-

804 - The Deadly Mantis:
Giant bug movies are something I always look forward to on MST3K. And this treat is my favorite of them all. Ingenious comedic writing and delivery at its peak (I love the reference to Quinn the Eskimo). This would make the perfect double feature with "Beginning of the End", for your next MST-Marathon.  A+

805 - The Thing That Couldn't Die:
Quirky characters and a silly premise help make this one funny experiment. The riffing displays the guys knack for tight observational riffing.  A-

806 - The Undead:
Much like the Mole People, the laughs are not as non-stop perfect as the ones heard in "Mantis". But this Corman flick also has a colorful cast and receives some smooth dead-on quips.  B-

807 - Terror From the Year 5000:
I like the first half of this one a lot. The floating statue and the mild secretary made me laugh. The second half is good too, though I wish Dr. Hedges would have taken Miss Blake on the trip.  B+

808 - The She Creature:
Non acting is the strength of this gray movie.  B

809 - I Was A Teenage Werewolf:
Clever riffing on a classic B-Movie. Michael Landon's character likes to throw milk whenever provoked.  B+

810 - The Giant Spider Invasion:
"Packers won the Super Bowl, WOOO-HOOO!" - Though overplayed on Sci-Fi (and overwatched by me), it remains a laugh riot to my mind. For me, all a movie needs is a couple of broad or silly characters, then it becomes target practice for the MST-comedians. Spider is flush with silly characters, like Alan Hale Jr and a hick in red underwear.  A-

811 - Parts: The Clonus Horror:
Great first half, which looks at a community of slow witted clones. Tails off a hair when the movie leaves the comfort of the clone facility.  B+

812 - The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies:
There are only a handful of big laughs and the slimy hairball of a movie must have been coughed up by Satan himself. This is not a very fun one to watch.  C

813 - Jack Frost:
This though, is just plain nuts. Classic riffing on a Russian psychedelic fairytale.  A+

814 - Riding With Death:
A TV series that is brilliantly quipped. Ben Murphy is a mellow secret agent and singer Jim Stafford is his hillbilly pal. Oh, and remember to leave Robert Denby alone, okay.  A

815 - Agent for h.a.r.m.
Decent riffing on a dull secret agent movie. My favorite part of this episode is the host segments. As Mike goes on trial for destoying planets and Bobo has to defend him.  B+

816 - The Prince of Space
The redundancy of the movie wears me out, and by the end the riffs are not as strong.  B-

817 - The Horror of Part Beach
Eulabelle, Sodium and odd looking creatures populate this cheap production. The riffing is funny throughout.  A-

818 - Devil Doll
Evil Vorelli abuses his dummy: The dark movie is met with a decent array of quips that mocks the mood of the script. Excellent host segments includes the return of Paul Chaplin as Pitch.  B+
Devil Doll was inspired by a story in 1945s anthology, "Dead of Night". In that film it's the ventriloquist who is hassled by his evil dummy.

819 - Invasion of the Neptune Men:
As with "Prince of Space", the movie wears me down and the riffing isn't as strong at the end, as it was at the beginning.  B-

820 - Space Mutiny
The comedy is decent enough, but it's the cheesy movie itself that propels this episode to legend.  A

821 - Time Chasers:
Prefect movie is matched with perfect jokes. This time travel epic is highlighted by a colorful cast. Great skits-we meet Mike's brother Eddie.  A+

822 - Overdrawn at the Memory Bank:
This PBS movie bugs me. Maybe it's that it was made on video instead of film (making it seem like a cheap home movie), or seeing a decent actor like Raul Julia, sleepwalk through a script that tries too hard to be hip and socially relavant. Overall, the skits are tired and unfunny, while the humor in the theater is okay, but nothing to write home about.  C+
