Season Three

301 - Cave Dwellers:
Season 3 opens with a bang. This the best riffing on the show thus far. It's very intellegent, as it is in tune with everything this sword and sandel flick brings to the screen. Excellent host segments too. A

302 - Gamera:
Not as "spit take" funny as Cave Dwellers, Gamera never the less is given a good working over. Kenny and Tibby the Turtle are classic characters and in the host segments, Mike visits as Gamera! B

303 - Pod People:
A true classic in every sense of the word. Wonderfully stupid movie, with its over lapping storylines and bickering characters. The riffing that takes on Trumpy and Tommy (pictured on the set) is so great my stomach hurt from laughing so hard. The host segments are outstanding and mock many moments from the movie. Easily a toppermost moment for the BBI. A+

304 - Gamera Vs. Barugon:
There not much Gamera in this movie, nor are there any children in short pants running amok. Decent enough riffing and entertaining skits. B-

305 - Stranded in Space:
Fair, workman-like effort. I didn't find anything to crow about with the riffing, and the bang flag experiment was cheesy. C

306 - Time of the Apes:
"I don't care" - Ah, but I do, especially with laughs like this. Apes is a chopped up Japanese series that serves itself up well to the MST treatment. Skits are hit and miss; I did like the Sandy Frank song and the Miracle Brow baby. A

307 - Daddy "O"
With Short: Alphabet Antics - Excellent movie related host segments highlight this episode. The riffing isn't bad either. The short didn't show off their talents though and is the weakest part of a superb episode. A-

308 - Gamera Vs. Gaos:
Joel: "Would somebody please milk grandpa, he's in a lot of pain!" - Gamera returns with another crazed child. While many fans prefer the first "Gamera", I believe the riffing on this episode is superior. I received more big laughs from this silly slice of monster cheese. Skits are ho-hum but otherwise I give this an A-

309 - The Amazing Colossal Man:
Smart riffing with a couple of memorable host segment visits from Glen Manning. TACM is the perfect, cheesy, Bert I Gordon masterpiece. A season, as well as series highlight. A

310 - Fugitive Alien I:
The movie wanders all over the map and becomes very tedious. The riffing is generally good and Mike debuts his hilarious Jack Perkins persona. B-

311 - It Conquered the World:
With Short: Snow Thrills - I had high expectations for this silly creature feature classic. Maybe too high. The riffing and the skits all hit at about the same level. Steady without tipping the scales into relentless hilarity. B-

312 - Gamera Vs. Guiron:
What a perfect picture for MST3K. It is so completely goofy that it must have required little effort to rip it to pieces. What an easy target and the host segments are classics as well. One of the all time great episodes. A+

313 - Earth Vs. the Spider:
With Short: Speech: Using Your Voice - I wasn't overly bowled over by the riffing, though the work done on this movie and the short is steady. Host segments are fair, with the introduction of Crow's "Earth Vs. Soup" screenplay an enduring moment in the shows history. B

314 - Mighty Jack:
Another Japanese series is met with quality riffing and a nice mix of clever skits. This is a movie that set the bench mark for confusing and would be referenced as such in many shows thereafter. B+
Enjoy a box of Mighty Jack candy while you watch, one of many MJ products offered in Japan...

315 - Teenage Caveman:
With Shorts: Aquatic Wizards & Catching Trouble - This experiment starts off well, with good riffing on the shorts and an amusing host segment titled "Catching Ross". The dopey, dry movie kills the momentum, as the rest of the show is greeted mostly by a smattering of giggles. C

316 - Gamera Vs. Zigra:
There's nothing serious about this Gamera flick. It doesn't even attempt to appeal to the average adult intellegence. Therefore it makes for a fun experiment. Nice riffing, okay skits, B+

317 - Viking Women and the Sea Serpent:
With short: The Home Economics Story: Ace effort on the short. It's a long one and the frequent laughs make every minute worthwhile. The waffle skits are up and down, while the riffing on Roger Corman's feature is steady. B+

318 - Star Force: Fugitive Alien II:
Moviewise It's more of the same, riffwise it's even funnier! A-

319 - War of the Colossal Beast:
With short: Mr. B Natural - It's another round with Glen Manning (who visits once again duing a host segnment). Excellent riffing and the short opens the gates of hell and lets loose Mr. B upon the world. A-

320 - The Unearthly:
With shorts: Posture Pals & Appreciating Your Parents - Classic shorts but the movie doesn't light much of a creative fire under the Best Brains. Despite Tor Johnson and John Carradine, The Unearthly would be nothing without the classroom flicks which open the experiment. C-

321 - Santa Claus Conquers the Martians:
Dropo the ultra annoying is joined by other Martians in their quest to steal Santa. Crazy flick is met with many fine riffs. The skits offer the timeless, "Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas". A-

322 - Master Ninja I:
Joel and his bots have their way with this wedge of TV movie cheese. Crow's imitation of Timothy Van Patten never fails to deliver big laughs. The host segments are well done (The Num-chucks sketch is a takeoff on one of Joel's old stand-up bits). B+

323 - The Castle of Fu Manchu
While there are laughs to be had, I wasn't on the floor with Fu. The movie is poorly lit, the skits are generally weak and I wasn't enjoying myself as much as normal. C

324 - Master Ninja II:
The return of the Ninja is even more funny than the last! A-
