NECROMANCY
...Is spirit magic gone wrong. Advanced level in
spirit magick is a prerequisite to learn Necromancy. AUTHOR'S NOTE: Players are
prohibited from using necromancy in game. For NPC's only.
Learner Level(•): Like spirit magick, practitioner is able to prevent a
spirit from leaving a dying body. If the body can be healed, the spirit stays.
If the body dies, the spirit is left in limbo.
Basic Level 1(••): Animate small undead: dead animals and non-humanoid
spirits can be recalled as spirits, and must obey commands of the summoner. They
can be reanimated inside their earthly bodies only, or as spirit minions
compelled to do the will of the caster. If the spirits have "moved on", the
basic caster cannot recall them.
Basic Level 2(•••): Recall small undead: dead animals and non humanoid
spirits can be recalled from death and can be reanimated in their earthly
bodies, or in objects, as well as spirits. This is especially useful for wards
and traps. The basic level caster can also commune with spirits and compel a
response from them.
Intermediate Level 1(••••): Raise large undead: Ability to raise humanoid
bodies, or command local spirits to do their will until the spirit is dismissed.
The raised humanoid is given only one assignment, as a command, and will not
rest until it is either completed or terminated. The caster has the option of
confining a spirit to a body (intelligent undead) or simply animating a body
without a spirit attached, and given an assignment. Intermediates can raise only
as many as their charisma allows (for table top) or a maximum of 3 online, only
one of which can be an intelligent undead.
Intermediate Level 2(•••••):Ability to raise humanoid spirits within
their earthly bodies, or command the spirits to do their will until the spirit
is dismissed. The spirits commanded or raised must be spirits still existing on
this plane; spirits that have moved on cannot be reached. The raised humanoid is
given an assignment, and the caster can raise as many as their charisma x3 (for
table top), 3 of which can be intelligent undead.
Advanced Level(••••••): Ability to raise spirits from other planes and
enslave them, provided they have the material components necessary to recall the
spirit: a personal item, usually a lock of hair, a vial of their own (the
caster's) blood, and access to the ancient methods of necromancy, which is only
taught by advanced necromancers. Advanced level casters can command up to x5
undead, 10 of which can be intelligent, and any of those ten can be pulled from
a state of rest.
