Music: it's a very important part of my life. the love of music runs deeply in my family, and because of this, i have a strong love of and eclectic taste in music. some of the sounds i can't live without are: oldies, especially 60s, 70s, 80s stuff (i.e. Al Green, The Beatles, Curtis Mayfield, Frankie Valli, Simple Minds, Chicago, The Bangles, The Drifters, Minnie Riperton, Dan Hill, LaBelle, When In Rome, Bread, Billy Joel, Heart, The B-52's, Starship, Jimmy Buffett, Olivia Newton-John, Sonny and Cher, Whitney Houston, The Beach Boys, Van Morrison, Wild Cherry, Starland Vocal Band, Fleetwood Mac, Alicia Bridges, Queen, Thelma Houston, Air Supply, pretty much all old Motown, ABBA, Kenny Rogers country, The Eagles, and the Beastie Boys*), hip~hop, rap and r~n~b (The Roots, Juvenile, Bone Thugs *thanks to Adam :)*, Xscape, Pinay, Premiere, NuFlavor, Lauryn Hill, Allure, Simple, KAI, Common), some alternative (Sublime, The Offspring), classical (Andrea Bocelli), both American and Filipino popular (Dar Williams, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Lea Salonga, Freestyle, Parokya Ni Edgar, Eraserheads, Regine Velasquez, True Faith, The Backstreet Boys, She Moves, Gloria Estefan, Jocelyn Enriquez, Savage Garden)

Books: a summarized listing, as i am very hungry while writing this and i must depart but i have HELLA books that i love. here are just a few *mind you, some of them i may have read a long time ago but i remember them as being my favorites then* and the list goes on and on. i'll add more when i think of it: the entire Wrinkle in Time series, by Madeleine L'engle (including A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, and Many Waters); The entire Sword of Shannara series, by Terry Brooks (too many to name here); anything by Amy Tan (The Joy Luck Club, The Kitchen God's Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses); Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto, anything dealing with Greek Mythology, especially The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer, the stories of Cupid and Psyche and Pryamus and Thisbe, Virgil's The Aeneid and Euripides' Medea; Bell Hooks' Black Looks: Race and Representation, Art On My Mind: Visual Politics; Lois Lowry's The Giver; Pomes(sic) All Sizes by the original beatnik, Jack Kerouac; Strangers From a Different Shore: A History of Asian-Americans, by Ronald Takaki; The Last Time I Saw Mother, by Arlene Chai; Les Miserables by Victor Hugo; The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger; Jules Verne's A Journey to the Center of the Earth; Judy Blume's Just as Long as We're Together; Shakespeare especially Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, and Sonnet 29; To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee; The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck (his words are pure poetry...it's beautiful); Ellen Foster and A Virtuous Woman; A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, and The Bible. by God. there's probably a lot more but i can't remember them all right now...

Interests:Battle on, Xena!, Dawson's Creek, Ally McBeal, The Boondocks, Daria, Star Wars (look at the pics down on the Miscellaneous page), Sailor Moon, Broadway stuff (especially Grease, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, and A Chorus Line), The Matrix, especially Trinity, Dirty Dancing *i carried a watermelon...*, and the Internet

Dislikes: people with dirty hair and fingernails...bad hygiene in general...the incorrect use of the apostrophe ("It's" is only needed when you're talking about possession...and you don't need an apostrophe for plurals, as in "look at the pig's!" because that's just WRONG) and people who can't distinguish "they're" from "their" and "there", "you're" from "your", and especially "loose" from "lose"...and bad grammar...why is it that people cannot seem to understand one does NOT end a sentence with a preposition?? it's not right!!...i don't appreciate byters, haters, and people who think they're all that but are most obviously none of it...those stupid people who page me up with things like 403-655-81764 *hoe-ass-bitch* just to be mean, not because i had ever done shit to them...Abercrombie and Fitch...racists...anal-retentive people, especially teachers...people who wear their pants too big so they hang down past their shoes and then they step all over the bottoms of them, getting them all wet and muddy and ripped and nasty...people who tell me that i'm not filipina because i'm not brown...all those sites by some baby asians who call themselves stuff like "Dat PeeNoy G" and "LiL PINAY BAYBEE" and think they're the shit CuZ DeY KaNn TyPe LiK DiSs aLL da TyMe and SaY it's KeWL and cuz they can fill out those homepage forms instead of actually taking time to learn a little basic HTML...little homie-dogg g's who futilely insist that Asian Pride must be equal to Asian superiority, which any rational person could tell you is not true...oh yeah, and i'm getting sick of all these so called *hip-hop* artists remaking all these old songs!! come up with your own ideas, why don't you? i mean, the only thing that those songs show is how good the originals were...my sentiments are best expressed through the words of my friends Tom and Giselle.
Tom: "Hey SeLLe - you know that group INOJ?"
Giselle: "Yeah? What about them?"
Tom: "Guess what INOJ stands for? I Need Original Jams! Hahaha!"

Aspirations: to first become famous as a singer~actor~writer~poet~spoken word artist and then live in Hawaii, at least for a while...and yes, i know hella many people out there have dreams of fame, but i'm going to make it...i promise...and i'm gonna change the world.

"fear, it seems, is inevitable
                but we can't stop dreaming
     your impossible dreams"
