October 8th, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; Theatre of the Living Arts NOTES: A fan reported the setlist as including "four songs" from EVERGREEN, "What Are You Going To Do With Your Life?", "Rescue", "Do It Clean", "The Back of Love", "The Cutter", "The Killing Moon", "Seven Seas", "Bring on the Dancing Horses", "Lips Like Sugar", "Loose", "Over the Wall" and "even a hint of 'LA Woman'!!". A whispered version of "Ocean Rain" ended the set. "The band did a great job w/ the song 'WAYGTDWYL'. It seemed almost acoustic as the band kept the music low and Mac practically whispering the song to the crowd." - Seven Seas email list post

October 12th, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Detroit, Michigan, United States; Clutch Cargo NOTES: "Lots of fog and backlighting ... never once saw Ian's face until after the show ... and they walked off stage during 'Lips Like Sugar' because Mac saw the security drag out some guy ... everyone followed the bouncers out ... including two guys who worked for the band ... they told the security types that Ian wanted that guy back in or there was going to be a riot ... the boy was escorted back in ... and the boys returned ... never a dull moment!" - Seven Seas email list post

Maybe he was just being ironic as he vamped, even gesturing toward his crotch for 'Lips Like Sugar', but who could say for sure?" Seattle newspaper review
October 20th, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Portland, Oregon, United States; Aladdin Theatre NOTES: "Portland was a mellow show until about the 3rd or 4th song …. A smallish 'mosh' pit formed about 4 people deep, nothing too intense ...." - Seven Seas email list post

December 2nd, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Manchester, England; University of Manchester All That Jazz Rescue Evergreen Angels and Devils I Want to be There (When You Come) The Fish Hook Girl Silver Seven Seas Nothing Lasts Forever Fools Like Us The Killing Moon The Cutter Villiers Terrace Lips Like Sugar All My Colours (Zimbo) Do It Clean Ocean Rain NOTES: "Mac mentioned a new drummer, who'd only been with them for 12 hours. They did 'Angels and Devils', 'All My Colours' and 'Silver', and the best 'Ocean Rain' ever. They also did 'Road House Blues' during 'Do It Clean'" - Seven Seas email list post. “Mac wasn't lying about the new drummer only being with 'em for 12 hours; that was me and that's what happened …. We had a few hours rehearsal the night before the tour started and off we went, slightly stressed. In Wolverhampton, we played a new song I’d never heard and [they] made me start it; still haven't heard how it was meant to go.” -- Joe McKechnie, email to The Bunnymen Concert Log

December 4th, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Bristol, England; University of Bristol Rescue All That Jazz Evergreen Angels and Devils I Want to be There (When You Come) Villiers Terrace NOTES: This is a partial setlist. "There was a lot of messing around at Bristol (setting up, etc) which meant the Bunnies didn't go on until 9.50 pm. A bit of a rushed set. Only one encore, no 'Ocean Rain'." - Seven Seas email list post
December 5th, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Wolverhampton, England; The Wulfrun NOTES: "The Bunnymen started with Rescue, and skipped randomly through the albums. The standout tracks were: 'Silver', 'Zimbo (All My Colours)', 'Villiers Terrace' and, the still overwhelming 'Ocean Rain'. Mac was on form, and Will was rocking his socks off. Mac stopped 'People Are Strange' because he was thirsty and then restarted. Two encores, nearly 2 hours on stage!" - Seven Seas email list post

December 31st, 1999 Echo and the Bunnymen Liverpool, England; St George's Plateau: Millennium celebration NOTES: Joe McKechnie, who served as drummer for the UK tour, did so here as well. “On St George's Plateau, the Liverpool bands Echo and the Bunnymen and the Christians entertained the crowds. But the city was surprisingly in the thrall of the official party at the Cream 2000 club venue .... While London excited itself about the significance of this date, Liverpool seemed to find its high in insouciance and irreverence.” -- Nick Paton Walsh, The Guardian, January 2nd, 2000

I took as my starting point Steve Doughty's excellent and comprehensive Bunnymen Recordings site, and have filled in gaps using the Seven Seas Archive (which went back to January 1st, 1999 at the time I copied it all into text files), as well as the various other web pages and articles cited in my listings. This is still very much a work in progress. I have received a good deal of help from members of the Seven Seas and Bunnymen.com communities -- thank you all!
