I swooned as they kicked things off with ‘Lips Like Sugar’ and they sounded remarkably good. They sprinkled their sets with all of my (and everybody else’s) favorites like, ‘Bring on the Dancing Horses’ and ‘The Killing Moon’ and pulled off a surprising cover of the Doors’ ‘Roadhouse Blues.’” -- AZ Newspaper

The coolness of the lighting, the sonic structuring of the songs and McCulloch's voice intoxicated the minds of those in the room and sent plenty of people into a dancing fit.” -- Samuel Barker, houstonmusicreview.com

I shook his hand on the move and said, ‘Ian, Great show. Thank you’, and he very cordially thanked me and said he was glad we enjoyed it, as we continued in our opposite directions. Simple stuff for sure, but a meaningful exchange to a fan, from a man who probably wasn't feeling in the mood to be gracious, but was gracious nonetheless.” – Seven Seas email list post

July 21st, 2006 Echo and the Bunnymen Benicassim, Spain; Benicassim Festival NOTES “Mac was pretty quiet to be honest. None of the usual banter. The setlist was a bit like the ones back in 2001-2003. The one that opened with Lips. No NLF (or anything from EVERGREEN) though, and only a couple from HUH (‘The Disease’, ‘All My Colours’). Mainly hits, but a solid set nonetheless.” -- Seven Seas email list post
July 22nd, 2006 Echo and the Bunnymen Chateau de Sedieres, France; Festival de Sedieres NOTES: “Inspired Bunnymen, led by a regal McCulloch: that’s what our correspondent witnessed at the Festival de Sédières on 22 July. In the depths of the Corrèze region, concerts aren’t quite the same. Far from everything, the artists are in good form, calmer. A few minutes before taking the stage in front of the 400 pilgrims waiting for them, Ian McCulloch and his Bunnymen shake hands and crack jokes. Seeing them in this barn converted into a concert hall, in the middle of nowhere, is something of a miracle – the day before they played 1,000 kilometres from here at the Benicassim rock carnival in a pop-star context …. but when they play the first bars of ‘Going Up’, the Bunnymen defy time, wear and tear, nostalgia and modernity …. Echo and the Bunnymen’s setlist plays like an unbelievable greatest hits collection. It’s all there, intact and reinvented: ‘Seven Seas’, ‘Do It Clean’, ‘Zimbo’, ‘Never Stop’, ‘The Killing Moon’, ‘The Cutter’, ‘The Back of Love’, ‘Villiers Terrace’, ‘Lips Like Sugar’, ‘Rescue’ and even ‘The Disease’, which we thought had been forgotten forever. ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’, the comeback single of a decade ago, also survived; two treats (a Doors cover and Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the Wild Side’) and two songs from the latest album – ‘Scissors in the Sand’ and ‘Stormy Weather’ – round things off perfectly. An hour and a half later, we are all 25 years younger.” -- Marc Besse, Les Inrockuptibles, July 28th, 2006 (translation)

I took as my starting point Steve Doughty's excellent and comprehensive Bunnymen Recordings site, and have filled in gaps using the Seven Seas Archive (which went back to January 1st, 1999 at the time I copied it all into text files), as well as the various other web pages and articles cited in my listings. This is still very much a work in progress. I have received a good deal of help from members of the Seven Seas and Bunnymen.com communities -- thank you all!
