Although this series is called "SuperS", from the anime, the original Japanese manga simply called this the "Dream" arc. Any notes that I make based on the text will be in this colour; these notes are just for clarification and speculation.
In childish writing (with backward 'S' letters), Rini writes to her parents in the 30th
century. Her letter reads:
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
Thanks to you, I'm now a proud scout, a.k.a. Super Sailor Chibi Moon! Upon completing my
training, I've decided to return to the 30th century on April 1st. I miss you so much! Please
come and pick me up.
Love, Rini
Underneath Rini's letter, a present day newspaper article discusses a Solar Eclipse happening today, calling it "A once in a millennium event!". The best conditions for viewing the eclipse are in Tokyo.
The scene switches to Amy, Raye, Mini, Lita and Rini outside among flowering trees waiting for Bunny. "Bunny! Come on!" they say. Bunny runs up behind Lita and Mina, grabbing their arms, with Amy and Raye bordering them and Rini in front. "Aha ha!" says Bunny. "What's with you?" asks Raye. [This scene happens in the first episode of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars in the anime, and not in the SuperS season.]
Bunny strikes a pose, and replies "I'm just sooo happy! 'Cause of my brand new Crossroads High uniform!" She clasps her hands and continues, "We're all finally going to HIGH SCHOOL! Aren't you guys excited?"
Dialogue
Lita: All that cramming was so worth it!
Rini: Bunny in high schoool!?! It's gotta be the Silver Imperium Crystal!
Raye: I bet they marked her test wrong.
Amy: Anything is possible, if you try really hard.
Rini, Raye and Amy's words become arrows and stab Bunny. She complains that they are cruel.
Mina comes up to Bunny and grabs her hands. "I'm sooo happy! I finally get to go to school with you guys!" she says. Bunny happily replies, "Mina!!" Mina then adds, "Bunny, we'll do detention togehter!"
The girls then start talking about their plans for high school. Mina says she'll join the volleyball team, and audition for movies on the weekends. Lita plans on joining the cooking club, so that she can be a good wife. Amy wants to join the computer club, while Raye wants to join the archery club. Bunny admits to thinking about joining the manga drawing club.
Darien walks up to the girls. Bunny greets him. Amy thinks to herself, "Darien's now a 1st year med student at KO University...I gotta work hard, too."
Bunny, Darien and Rini start to head off in a different direction. "We'll catch up with you guys after we see Rini off." The other four girls look a bit surprised. "That's right...Rini's going home to the 30th century today!" they remember. Rini, clutching Diana, smiles.
The girls start to say their goodbyes to Rini. Mina says, "I know you'll come back soon! Bring a gift from the 30th century!" Amy says "We'll miss you Rini!" Lita offers, "Next time, come stay at my house." Raye says "Say hi to Mom and Dad. Take care." They all say goodbye.
Then, Rini, Darien and Bunny head off to the park, where Rini will leave with the 30th century. Rini asks Darien for a piggyback ride, making Bunny and Darien sweatdrop. "Drats! A piggy back ride again?! You're so spoiled", Darien complains. Nonetheless, Rini gets her piggy back ride.
They arrive at the park, and Bunny makes sure Rini has her diary, address book, and Raye's good-luck charm before she leaves. Diana pops up on Rini's head and thanks the "Prince" and "Princess" for everything. They ask Diana to come and visit again. "Where's Luna and Artemis?" Bunny asks. "The control room", Diana admits, sweatdropping. "It's too painful for them." Luna and Artemis are shown, weeping. "Weep! Diana, I miss you already" says Luna.
Bunny makes sure Rini has Luna-P, which is stuffed in Rini's bag. They notice a large number of people in the park. Darien comments, "Yeah! IT was on TV this morning. The biggest solar eclipse of the millennium is happening today." Rini, mishearing, almost falls over, asking, "Solaric LIPS?" Darien explains, "It's this phenomenon where the new moon cuts across and hides the sun. We're lucky we can witness sucha big event together!"
Bunny thinks to herself, "The new moon...hides the sun." The three buy plastic sheets to look at the sun without harming their eyes. Rini, holding the sheet across her eyes, and says "The sun's starting to chip away!" The sun is shown, with the beginning of the moon coming to block it. They notice it is starting to get darker.
Rini notices a faint ringing sound in the air. "Do I hear a bell jingling? What a beautiful sound..." she thinks. A faint voice cries, "Help!" Bunny and Rini turn around towards the sound, and come face to face with a white unicorn, with large wings sprouting from its bak. "Help me... Maiden..." it says. It then fades away.
Rini and Bunny, shocked and blushing, echo "Maiden?". They then point to themselves. "Is he talking about me?!" they ask at the same time. Diana sweatdrops. "It's me!!" "No way! It's me!!" they say, beginning to argue. "Old hags aren't maidens!" Rini says. "Punk kids aren't maidens!!" Bunny retorts.
Darien, oblivious to their arguing, murmurs, " just saw, for a moment...A forest and a white horse..." Bunny and Rini stop arguing, exclaiming, "Darien! You saw it too?!"
Meanwhile, the moon continues to progress across the sun. Luna and Artermis, as well as Raye and the others, watch the eclipse from elsewhere. Lita says, "Bunny and those guys are watching this, too." Amy says, "This only happens once in a few hundred years!"
Mina notices a mother telling her young daughter that since eclipses are rarer than shooting stars, she should make a wish. The young girl wishes to become an actress.
Mina takes the cue from the girl, and says, "My dream is to become a star! I wish I'll become a famous star!" Lita joins in, "My dream is to become a bride! Hopefully to get married and live a happy life running a bakery or a flower shop!" Mina grumbles that Lita is making two wishes, instead of one. Amy says, "My dream is to be a doctor! I wanna be the best doctor!" Raye says, "I want to be just like Grandpa, and become Chief Priestess of the Hikawa Shrine!". [The SuperS manga arc is called the "Dream" arc in Japanese.]
The girls continue to watch the eclipse, and note that the sky is getting darker. Darien also notes the darkness, and then suddenly doubles over in pain. He feels a sharp pain in his chest. Bunny, Rini and Diana are concerned, but Darien says, "I just felt a little dizzy." He privately wonders what the pain was. The three humans look up again in the sky and notice something shining in the air.
A ship comes into view, sailing on the wind. It has many ruffled sails. Voices come from the ship. Voices sing, "Hi-Ho! Here comes the circus!" and "Ah, this beautiful bright town, filled with dreams." and "The land of our dreams! It's been a long time coming." Many strange clown faces proclaim, "The Dead Moon Circus is here!"
Darien, Rini and Bunny can't believe what they're seeing. They rub their eyes in shock. Bunny and Rini begin to freak out, but Darien assures them that they all saw the ship coming from the solar eclipse. He says, "A forest, a white horse and a flying ship...And to top it off, a song?! A day dream?" Darien again feels the pain in his chest. "It's not a dream. I've got a bad hunch about this."
Raye and the others, elsewhere, have also seen the flying ship. Lita says it was too crazy-looking to be a blimp. The crowd around them seems unconcerned. "Could only we hear it...?" Amy wonders.
Phobos and Deimos, Raye's pet crows fly in the sky. They bring with them a newspaper, and a tarot card, stabbing them together with two of their feathers. The newspaper and card lands in front of Raye. The newspaper carries the article about the solar eclipse. Raye notes the card. "The 'Moon' tarot card means 'Anxiety'. Once in a millennium...a cursed solar eclipse. Is that waht yolu're telling me, Phobos, Deimos?" Raye suggests they head to the park, saying that she's worried about Bunny and the others. "I sense a new enemy...!" Raye thinks.
Back at the park, the large crowd is still gathered after the eclipse. They realize that Rini can't go home with all these people around. They decide to kill some time shopping. They go to the Crossroads Shopping District, and notice a big sale. A large banner says, "Circus Welcome Sale". They receive a promotional flyer that reads, "Circus from the secluded Amazon. The mysterious Dead Moon Circus. Here at last after touring around the world." Rini says the song they heard was possibly related to the circus.
The shopping district is decorated like a festival, with cotton candy and goldfish. Rini and Bunny notice two glass kaleidoscopes among the sale items. Darien is reading the flyer, and notes the sudden appearance of the Circus. He is then bombarded with Rini and Bunny, begging him to buy the kaleidoscopes for them. Darien reluctantly buys them ($10 for 2) for Rini and Bunny, but smiles as he sees how happy the two are.
Raye and the others catch up to them, and are relieved that they are okay. Luna and Artemis join up, and note that the Dead Moon circus seems suspicious.
The bell tolls, and Bunny notes that it's 5 o'clock already and quite late. The sun begins to set, and there are still many people shopping. Bunny says, "Rini, it's late...maybe you should leave tomorrow." Rini agrees, but Darien points out, "But you wrote that letter saying you're returning to the 30th century today!" Rini blows it off, saying "It'll be fine. It's dated today, April 1st. Well, Mom will just think it's an April Fool's joke!" Bunny and Darien fall over. "I can't believe her! She's too much!" Darien says.
Bunny says, "Rini, promise me you'll leave early so you won't get in trouble. And apologize to your Mom!" Rini agreees. The two girls then turn to Darien. "Darien! Um...well...we have a favor to ask you!" Darien braces himself, saying "....here it comes."
It's now dark, and in Darien's apartment, Rini, with her hair down, is looking into Neptune's mirror. [Neptune gave Chibi Moon the mirror at the end of the last arc, as a promise that she and the other Outer Senshi would return someday. This mirror looks a little different from the anime one. It is actually reflective, and Rini can see her reflection clearly in it.] Rini is sitting on Darien's bed, against Darien's pillow and in Darien's pajamas. (Little signs point to Darien's objects.) Meanwhile, Bunny is on the phone. "Mom? I got so much homework today...so I'm over at Lita's doing it. Uh huh. I might spend the night." Darien glowers.
Bunny says, possibly trying to convince herself, "It's all good! We have an innocent relationship! I'm telling the truth mommy! It's Rini's last night and all."
Bunny then joins Rini on the bed, in her own pajamas with her hair down. Rini is looking through the kaleidoscope again, noting the many kinds of stones in it. Bunny says she always wanted one of them.
Suddenly, both of them are hit in the face with pillows. Darien, looking annoyed, says, "Rini! Get to bed! You're up at 5 tomorrow!" Rini complains at the early hour. Darien continues, "And you, Bunny, are going home! My rep's on the line!" he says, blushing and looking uncomfortable. Rini and Bunny beg with him. In the end, Darien joins them on the bed. Darien complains, "Geez. When I have my own daughter, I'm discipling her!!" [Nice job he's doing now...AND in the future. ¬_¬]
Bunny says, "It's not fair. I wanna be little like Rini. Kids get it so easy...Look at you... all spoiled!" Darien says, "As if you're not spoiled!" But Rini exclaims, "What!?! I'd rather be a grown-up! Kids get left out all the time, and there's so much you can't do! It sucks! I wanna grow up as quick as I can!" She adds, "After all, I'm 901 years old!!" Rini then gets stars in her eyes, and says, "Then...then...Darien will look at me as a real woman, right?" Bunny then bursts Rini's bubble with a curt, 'Whatever! You're Darien's daughter!!" Bunny's words stab Rini. "Hmph! Let's see you wear Darien's pajamas!" Bunny adds. Darien says, "I'm begging you! Get to bed!!"
Lying next to Bunny in bed, Rini thinks to herself, "The truth is I want to be...just like Bunny... Long, slender legs...round breasts and long soft hair...I'm jealous...I can't wait to grow up. I'm tired of being a little girl." Bunny, noticing Rini is still awake, says, "Can't sleep?". Rini blushes.
Darien, lying in bed, says, "30th century tomorrow, huh?" Rini then asks Darien to tell her a story. "When I was little, Mommy used to tell stories until I fell asleep. About big empires that sunk into the ocean, the mysteries of the pyramids, about haunted diamons...Artificial humans, vampires and stories about mirrors..." Rini explains, "On the other side of the mirror, this dark world supposedly exists. That's why you must not look ino a mirror during a full moon. You'll get sucked into the other world." Darien says, "An old European folk tale, huh?"
Bunny notices a mirror in Darien's apartment in the corner. She gets chills. "No! Now I can't look at mirrors at night anymore! It's all your fault, Rini! Good night!!" she says, and then dives under the covers.
Darien smiles, and says, "Rini's more grown up than Bunny." Rini, half asleep, wonders, "Darien, for real? I want to be a grown-up so badly!" They wish each other goodnight. The mirror in the corner is then enveloped in darkness as the lights are turned off.
At night, the tent of the Dead Moon circus stands in the middle of the city. Inside, a cloaked figure says, "Oh boy." A flying eyeball flutters to the cloaked figure's staff. "Oh Zircon," says the figure to the flying eyeball, "The sun light is too birght for this old body...my back...my eyes...I long for the dark of the night, when I'm at peace. But unless our circus beings quickly in this town, I can't even relax at night." The figure's face is revealed, showing a wizened face with large, half-closed eyes. The figure speaks again: "Are you girls ready...do you know what to do?"
"Of course, Zirconia," a voice answers. Four young girls dressed in skimpy circus clothing speak. "Leave it to us, the acrobatic Amazoness Quartet." One (CereCere) speaks, "Well first, to avoid any possible disturbance," and a second (JunJun) continues, "we can't allow any trouble-makers through..." and a third (PallaPalla) finishes, "secure all entrances!" The third girl holds up a gem, and yells, "Crown of Gems!" A bright light flashes from the gem. [Note: the girls are not identified by name here. I am putting there name in brackets here just to make it easier.]
Back at Darien's apartment, Rini is sleeping soundly. But a voice speaks, saying, "Maiden...Young maiden...!" Rini thinks, half asleep, "Darien? You're right! I've...I've always wanted to be a maiden."
Rini then realizes that Darien wasn't speaking, and wakes up fully to the sound of ringing. She looks to see the Pegasus nearby, watching her. "It's you again! The unicorn...or Pegasus...?" Rini says. The Pegasus says, "Maiden witha beautiful dream..." Rini is ecstatic to learn that she is the maiden after all. Pegasus tells Rini to ride on his back, which she does.
The Pegasus flies her over the city of Tokyo. She sees the bright lights of the city set against the black of the night. She's happy to be flying, and seeing such a beautiful sight. Flying over one part of the city, she notes, "That spot's dark. That's weird". The Pegasus replies, "That dark spot is where you were." Rini, shocked, says, "That's the Crossroads Shopping District?! It's so bright everywhere else. Why is Crossroads so dark?" A black pool is shown over one part of the city.
Pegasus returns to Darien's apartment with Rini still on his back. He asks if Rini enjoyed the ride, and Rini says she did. Pegasus then says, "If you wish, you can use my strength again. Your hand please." Rini holds out her hand, and a small glowing bell attached to a heart-shaped holder lands into her palm. Pegasus continues, "If you wish, ring this bell and I will come for you." Rini asks who he is. Pegasus replies, "I am...the Pegasus, Helios. Maiden, I promise to give you strength. So please...Please help me too. I want to rescue Elysion. I need the Golden Crystal." He begins to grow smaller and fade, heading toward a cage. Rini suddenly has a flash of her parents in Crystal Tokyo. She calls for Helios, but he's fading.
THUD! Rini wakes up and seems to have fallen out of bed onto the floor, landing on her head. "Was it a dream?" she thinks. Diana anxiously asks if she's OK. Chirping birds are heard. The small bell falls to the floor, and Rini realizes it wasn't a dream.
Rini, dressed in her uniform and her backpack on her back, sneaks out of Darien's apartment. Later, Darien and Bunny rise at the same time from the bed, looking tired. Bunny says, "I dreamt that" and Darien continues, "Rini and that Pegasus were together..." Bunny is a little freaked that both of them dreamt the same thing. Darien then gets a slight pain in his chest, much like the previous day. Bunny is worried, but Darien says, "I'm fine...I've been partying too much at my college. If it gets worse, I'll go see a doctor." Bunny still isn't quite convinced.
Bunny then notices a note nearby. It says, in childish writing, "I'm going home on my own. Please don't worry. I'll come back soon. Bye! Love, Rini"
Meanwhile, at the park, Diana notices Rini's sadness. Rini thinks, "I don't wanna go home." She holds the kaleidoscope, and looks at it sadly. She then fishes around in her pocket for the time key. The time key and the small bell both drop out of her pocket. Rini's heart begins to thump, as she thinks about Pegasus. She thinks, "I don't even know if Helios is an ally or an enemy...Why'd I just hop on his back like that?" She remembers Pegasus' words about wanting to save Elysion, and needing the Golden Crystal. Rini realizes that Pegasus may need her help.
Rini has a flash back of Neo-Queen Serenity, smiling and holding her hands out wide, saying to her, "Smally Lady, I look forward to the day when you've finished your training and return home mature and grown up."
Rini then pulls out Neptune's mirror, and looks into it. Sailor Neptune, holding baby Hotaru, is seen in the mirror. "Little princess...Become a strong soldier by the time I see you again and protect our precious princess." [Note (and spoiler for the S manga): In the manga, Sailor Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto left at the end of the Infinity arc, with baby Hotaru. Unlike the anime, baby Hotaru does not stay with her father; Doctor Tomoe was killed at the end of the Infinity arc.]
Rini then wonders, "Can I go home like this? Did I finish my training? Have I truly become a soldier?" Diana, at Rini's feet, says worriedly, "Smally Lady...!"
Rini then grips the time key and holds it up. "Guardian of Time...! Split the heavenly sky and open the door of time! I call upon you, the almighty God of time, Chronos! Lead and protect me...Onward to the road of light!" she says. Nothing happens. Rini, confused that nothing happened, repeats, "Onward to the road of light!" Again, nothing happens. Rini is attacked by a strange dark energy.
Rini cries out, and drops the key and small bell. She realizes, "I can't go home?! The time key isn't working?!" Bunny and Darien race to Rini. The small bell rings, and Pegasus appears. "Maiden...Help me..." he calls. He then disappears, fading toward the same cage he did in Rini's dream.
Diana runs up to Bunny and Darien, telling them the time key didn't work. Rini says, "Bunny! Darien! I don't care if I can't go home! But did you see him? The Pegasus? The Pegasus is asking for my help. Something is happening. I have to find out what." [Note: Similar to the beginning of this act, the scene where Rini wants to go home, but can't, is seen at the beginning of the Sailor Stars anime season.]
At the Dead Moon Circus, the third girl (PallaPalla), who activated the Gem to seal off the entrances speaks. "I feel it...I feel it. Just now something tried to open the secured entrance." The fourth member of the Amazoness Quartet (VesVes, who did not speak earlier) cracks a whip. A cage door opens, freeing the tiger inside it. "Tiger Eye, go! Go and get the intruders!" the fourth girl orders. The tiger is set free to wreak havoc on Crossroads.
Back at the Crown centre (I think), where the Soldiers have their secret base, Bunny and Darien ask, "So Pegasus' name is Helios, and he said 'I want to rescue Elysion' and 'I need the Golden Crystal'?" Rini nods. Bunny ponders "Where'd he come from? We need to be cautious and find out who he is first." Luna adds, "I can't believe the time key isn't working...Is it a disturbance in the time-space continuum?!"
The cats then notice noises coming from outside. Bunny and Rini run outside of the Crown centre, and see Andrew and Una (Elizabeth/Lizzie in the English dub anime). They tell Bunny and Rini, "A tiger's running through the shopping district. It escaped from the new circus!" Bunny and Rini run off to find the tiger.
Meanwhile, Darien has another chest pain. "This stining pain again! What's wrong with me!" he wonders.
Rini and Bunny find the tiger. The tiger sees the two, and dashes away. Bunny says, "Rini! Let's morph!" Bunny cries, "Moon Cosmi Power" and Rini cries, "Moon Prism Power". They both throw ther arms up, and shout "Make Up!!" Nothing happens. Bunny and Rini, shocked at the failure of their transformation are frozen to the spot. "We can't morph?! Why?!" they ask.
Bunny and Rini look up, as the two Holy Grails appear, floating in the air. "The Holy Grail..." The two Holy Grails then fade and disappear. "The Holy Grail will no longer appear and give us power...When all nine Scouts came together, the Holy Grail was formed...But three Scouts are gone now..." A semi-chibi picture of the nine Soldiers are shown. Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chibi-Moon. The next picture shows a faded picture of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, with Neptune holding baby Hotaru. [Note (and spoiler warning for the Sailormoon S anime): The Holy Grail is known as the "Sacred Chalice" in the English dub anime. In the manga, there are two Holy Grails; one for Moon and another for Chibi-Moon. In the anime (both Japanese and English dub), there is only one, meant for Sailor Moon. Also, in the anime, the Grail was formed by collecting the three Talismans (ie. Space Sword, Aqua Mirror, Garnet Orb) together. In the manga, it was formed by the coming together of the nine Soldiers. Moreover, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto already have their respective Talismans in the manga when introduced.]
Bunny and Rini are left in their school uniforms. However, their brooches begin to flash with a brilliant light. "But...We have to fight on!!! Within us now...a different kind of power abounds....It's a new power..." Bunny's brooch is heart-shaped, with a moon in the centre. The heart has wings growing out of its side. Rini's brooch is a crystal heart. (The same ones as the anime.) Together, they shout, "Moon Crisis Make Up!" and transform.
"Champions of Love and Justice -- Super Sailor Moon! ANd Super Sailor Chibi Moon!" they announce. They are dressed in the "Super" version of the sailor outfits.
Moon and Chibi Moon rush towards the tiger. PallaPalla and VesVes see them coming, with Tiger Eye crouching behind the two circus girls. PallaPalla brings forth another gem. "Gem Action!" she cries. Dark fuzzballs with evil eyes appear. PallaPalla says, "Nightmares incarnates... Lemures! Devour these foes!"
The Lemures attack Moon and Chibi Moon viciously. Sailor Moon thinks, "I've gotta attack! I need a weapon..." Chibi Moon hears a ring, and sees the small bell floating in the air. She grabs it, and hears Pegasus' voice, saying, "Please call me..." The small bell is glowing, and a small Pegasus (ie. not his full size) appears, saying "I will shar emy powers with you maiden! Call my name and then scream out...'Twinkle Yell'". Moon is still being attacked, and Pegasus urges Chibi Moon on.
Chibi Moon takes the bell in both hands, squeezes her eyes shut, and says, "Helios! Please! Give us a weapon to use! Twinkley Yell!!" and holds up the bell one-handed above her head. Pegasus then appears, rearing. Chibi Moon and Moon reach out to two balls of light near their hands. The two glass kaleidoscopes that Darien bought them earlier appear, and flash brightly. Pegasus says, "Those crystal kaleidoscopes have developed souls from your will and power. They've been waiting for a strong bond with you." They kaleidoscopes transform into weapons. They lengthen, and appear like batons with a heart-shaped handle. Bunny's weapon (the larger one) says, "I am Moon Kaleido Scope." Rini's weapon speaks, "I am Chibi Moon Kaleido Scope." Sailor Moon is shocked, saying, "The weapons have wills?!"
The weapons then say, "Go on! Yell out! 'Moon Gorgeous Meditation!'". Moon and Chibi Moon take their weapons, and yell, "Moon Gorgeous Meditation!!" and raise their weapons. The Lemures are destroyed.
VesVes and PallaPalla are shocked, and quickly escape from battle. Meanwhile, Darien appears on the scene. "Super Sailor Moon...! Chibi Moon...!" he says. They greet him. Pegasus then begins to fade, headed toward the cage. "Maidens! Your powers truly shine!" he says, and disappears. Darien thinks, "Helios...That sounds...it's so nostalgic..." and collapses. Moon and Chibi Moon cry out.
At the Dead Moon circus tent, a mirror reflecting only darkness speaks. "Oh, no...!! The power of the full moon, white shining power of light! Those of the white Moon Kingdom have been reincarnated into this world!"
Zirconia begins berating the Amazoness Quartet. "You brats! Queen Nephrenia is severely upset! Do not upset her any further!" Zircon, the flying eyeball, flutters in the air. Zirconia continues, saying "They were from the white moon. Their bodies are immortal, and they receive limitless powers from holy gems. If you attack them face to face you won't have a chance! I will not tolerate failure! This planet will be ours as planned. It may take time, but eventually everything will be ours!" Zirconia then walks up to the dark mirror, thinking "However...what was that white horse that appeared behind them."
The Amazoness Quartet, meanwhile, are not pleased. "That old hag! She said I can do as I please!" says one girl. Another girl replies, "JunJun, I agree with the old lady. We're finally outisde. We have to enjoy it!". The girls who used the gems says, "CereCere's right. I look forward to finding out about them and this town. Don't you agree, VesVes?" The last girls replies, "Of course, PallaPalla".
VesVes tests the strength of a whip she's holding, and then turns to a cage. "Tiger-Eye..." she says, and the tiger that roamed the shopping district jumps to attention. VesVes then turns to a hawk, calling it "Hawk-Eye" and finally turns to a fish tank and the fish swimming in it. "and the cutie Fish-Eye." She says to all three animals, "Would you like to try your human form?" All three animals react vigorously. "Oh good babies..." VesVes says, and calls for PallaPalla. PallaPalla holds another gem, and says, "Gem Create!!"
The three animals transform to their human shape. Tiger-Eye turns into a long-haired man, and exclaims, "No way! It's for real!" Hawk-Eye has shorter, slightly spiky hair and says, "I'm human! My time has finally come!" Fish-Eye, with long hair pulled back in a ponytail, says, "Yes!! I'm sooo happy! It's my human form!" All three sport strange clothing and the black forehead jewel that the Amazoness Quartet also wear. [Note: In the anime, Tiger-Eye, Hawk-Eye and Fish-Eye are not 'pets' of the Amazoness Quartet. They do not work together at all. And Fish-Eye (like Tiger-Eye and Hawk-Eye) is male. And he was male in the anime as well, but was a female in the English dub.]
VesVes says, with a crowd of the little evil fuzzballs around her, says, "Let's show them what Dead Moon Circus is all about! Little nightmare globs, Lemures...beautiful dreams are your favorite victims. So, devour all the beautiful dreams in this town and fill them with the darkest of dreams!"
Tiger-Eye says, "Me, Tiger-Eye...my dream is to be an artist! And create I will!" Hawk-Eye says, "You can count on Hawk-Eye here! I've got many years of wisdom." Fish-Eye says, "I'm Fish-Eye, and I'm gonna totally fight hard!" The three fade away.
The Amazoness Quartet then look into a mirror shaped like a sun. within it, they see Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon hovering over the unconscious Darien. "So what beautiful dreams do these two have?" they ask.
Sailor Moon's determined thoughts are heard through the mirror. "I have to be stronger! I have to be more grown-up!" she thinks. Chibi Moon looks scared, and thinks, "I don't wanna be an adult yet! I've gotta train harder first!"
CereCere laughs and says, "Time for us to drop in with our Amazoness Quartet greeting, right girls? The truth is always on the flip side of words!" PallaPalla holds up yet another gem, and says, "Dreams come true! Reverse Gem!!" The gem flashes, and flies out of the circus tent toward Moon and Chibi Moon.
The two Soldiers are still hovered around Darien. Moon says, "Darien! Can you hear me?!" She gets no response. The Moon says to Chibi Moon, "We've gotta morph back and take Darien to the hospital!!" "OK!!" Chibi Moon agrees. Meanwhile, the flying gem approaches its targets. Moon and Chibi Moon begin to de-transform. Just as they do so, the flying gem hits them, causing a "Kaboom" and puff of smoke.
"Huh?!" both girls say. Bunny's clothes are suddenly much too large for her. Her uniform is slipping off her shoulders. Rini's clothes are suddenly too large, and begin to tear in many places. Bunny, looking to be about Rini's original age, points to Rini, looking to be about Bunny's original age. "Rini?" Bunny says, pointing. "Bunny?" Rini asks in response. Bunny's face is rounder, her eyes larger, and her pigtails shortened (but her buns are intact). Rini's hair as grown, two pigtails reaching past her knees. Her hair is still in cones. Her long legs and feet do not fit her child's shoes. Bunny is almost afloat in her too-large school uniform. They both exclaim, "What the...?!"
