Angel's
Story
1/27/02
This
beautiful couple is Bea and Hal. They lived quite happily together
for many years with their Labrador retriever named Georgie, and
a pair of cats. One day out of the blue, Georgie became ill. A trip
to the vet brought the worst news possible - Georgie had lung cancer
and was going to die very soon. Even harder to imagine, Hal had
been suffering from the exact same ailment for a long time. Bea
had to return home and break the news to Hal that his wonderful
companion was going to die. Two days later Georgie passed away at
home and went to wait for Hal at the Rainbow Bridge.

Bea and Hal were devastated. They couldn't bear
the thought of a home without a dog. Bea called Hal's nephew and asked him
to try and find them a dog that would fit their lifestyle. That's where
Jazzer comes into the picture.
Angel (formerly Jazzer)
|
Jazzer
had been turned in to the Animal Rescue League by her owners. This
beautiful pure bred dog languished at the shelter for over 5 months,
just waiting for the perfect person to walk through the door. Her
owners had said she didn't get along with other dogs, and that was
written on the sheet hanging on her kennel. Perhaps that's what
deterred people from even looking at her. Hal's nephew knew the
minute he saw her that she was the one to lift Hal's spirits, so
he adopted her and took her home.
|
The
match was perfect. As soon as Bea met her, she changed her name to
Angel, because she was just like an angel sent from above. Not long
after Angel's adoption, Hal passed away, and joined his Georgie at
the Rainbow Bridge. Bea was forced to move from her home and into
an apartment that didn't allow pets. Fortunately, Hal's nephew was
prepared for this event, and was able to welcome Angel into his home.

She
now lives happily with 7 canine siblings and two siblings of the
feline persuasion. As it turns out, Angel gets along fine with other
dogs and the information given by her owners was incorrect. Bea
still misses her, but Angel is able to visit on a regular basis!
Angel got off to a rough start, but she has finally found her forever
home.
