Pull up a chair, a beanbag, a swing...whatever makes you comfortable and get ready for some poetry. I called this room the Insomniacs Poetry Beanbag, because often times, it is late at night, I can't sleep, and poetry is the thing to read. It's a wonderful thing to sit and read poetry late at night, when no one else is up but you, and you can completely concentrate on the meanings of the words before you. And a beanbag is as good a place as any to sit and do this.
There are a million poets out there, maybe more...but of course there are a few names that even non-literary types know. That is because in some way, at some point, we have all read one of them. Whether it be becuase it was an assignment, or we really wanted to read what they had written.
Below you will find some links to a few of these poets. I will definately be adding more as the days come, but right now, I am starting with this group. I have been to each of the sites that I am linking you to, and I really think you will enjoy them. The people who put them together put a lot of time and energy into them, and it shows. There are plenty of poems to read..biographies of the poets and their lives, and other links if you want to even more about them.
Also, if you have a particular poet whom you'd like to see on here and have a site that has been done for them, or know of one, send me the link and I'll go and check it out. I am looking forward to expanding my list of poets...but until I do...please enjoy these, they are wonderful.
