Sunny in the morning, terrible rain in the evening.
I got up and watched the news today, checked email and did my usual stuff. Around 12 or so I did something that I haven't done for a while. I got out my slow cooker and did a bit of cooking. I pre-cooked the veggies then transfered them to the slow cooker, browned the chicken and put it in the cooker too. Then, I put the lid on it and forgot about it!
When I finished that I did a bit of cleaning. I have a mound of books and magazines that usually sit by my computer. I tidied them up and decided that I should offer them to someone else. My usual friend is away now, so I asked one of the women's groups that I belong to for someone willing to take them off my hands. I got a couple of responses, so I'll be able to give them a new home. I'm keeping the books, but the magazines will be out of here soon!
I also did a bit of sweeping and general cleaning/tidying up over the house. Husband didn't notice of course. Sigh. While I did all of the above I watched, The Score, a Robert DeNiro-Edward Norton-Marlon Brando movie. I'd taped it ages ago and only watched it today. It was okay. I sort of predicted what would happen so I was a little sad when I was right.
During the cooking and eating of my lunch I watched one episode of Friends and two of Frasier. It was fun to relax and have a laugh. During the Frasier the weather here suddenly changed and there was hail and it rained hard.
Around 5:30 I left for my school. I bundled up. I wore my clothes, plus a jacket, then my raincoat, then my raincape on top. I also wore a white hat and my pair of fingerless gloves. I was soaked before I left the apartment's driveway.
I made it safely to my school and opened up. It was a tad cold because I couldn't set the timer on the heater...it's only for 24 hours and I'd been away for 48 or more. I turned on the air conditioner heater and the oil heater and got to work. Once the room warmed up I turned off the air conditioner heater for a while. I didn't want to waste too much energy. When my student came, we had a good lesson and it was interesting for me too. We talked about when some inventions were first made.
After class, I put on my still wet socks, and my soaking pants and decided to call Fumihiko and ask him to come and get me. He was a sweetie and said he would. A few minutes later he arrived and loaded my bike into his car. We stopped off at the grocery store and I bought a few things. I got some ground meat for tomorrow night's dinner and a few cha-su rolls for tonight's dinner.
We came home and ate. We had my chicken soupy-stew (looked terrible but tasted good) salad and the cha-shu rolls. Fumihiko wasn't feeling well so he didn't eat very much. It's a bit sad actually. He thinks he's getting a cold.
Fumihiko did the dishes tonight and then we both did some vegging. He watched TV and I did some surfing of the net. It was fun.
That was my day today. It was quite low key for a change. Nice.
