Sunny and not as cold as it has been.
A nice day. I woke up when Fumihiko got up and said a sleepy goodbye, but didn't get up. I did get up a bit later when my alarm went off. Well, eventually anyway. I got up, watched the news and then vegged for a while.
In the early part of the afternoon I made my omelette. Today it was ham and cheese with the mushy veggie-soupy stuff in it. It was darn good! After eating and washing the dishes I went out. I went to the school.
Last night on my way to bed I noticed that I'd received an email from today's student cancelling her lesson. Normally I wouldn't bother going over to the school then, but I had set the heater last night to come on and I didn't want it to stay on all day and night. It was a lovely day, so a bike ride was a pleasant thing.
When I arrived at the apartment I discovered that the heater was on and working well. The room was a nice temperature. I had set it to come on three hours earlier than my class, so I think I'll try to use that as a rough guide. It doesn't have a fan, so the air doesn't get moved around. That was a little surprise for me as I thought it did, but didn't ask my husband about it in the store. Sigh. Still, that was after 3 hours and not on the highest setting either, so that's rather nice. I think if I do set it to come on early it's a good thing. I'm sure it's cheaper to run than the air conditioner heater, and the heat feels more pleasant too.
I did some paperwork, trying to put my financial things on paper. I'm not exactly sure I'm doing them right, my accounting class was more than 20 years ago and I didn't have to deal with kanji at the time either!
I came home after an hour and did a bit of maintenance on my bike. I blew up the tires and used my WD40 on the chain. It seemed to have developed a nasty squeak today, so I'm hoping the lubricant will stop it.
Hubby came home early today but I sent him out to buy kerosene right away. There were only vapours left in the tank on the balcony. He was supposed to get it last night, but forgot. Still, he picked me up so I can't be too angry at him, can I?
I made dinner tonight with a bit of help from hubby. He got to "cut the cheese". According to my old school that's a euphemism for a body sound that children think is funny! However, he really did cut the cheese....chedder that is. He grated it for me. We had tacos tonight. He had actual taco shells and I used lettuce leaves as usual. They were pretty good, even if I say so myself! I even have leftovers, so I might even have a taco omelette tomorrow. Maybe! I'll keep you posted.
After dinner, hubby did dishes and made coffee. Then he peeled a couple of persimmons for us. He actually asked me if there was something on TV tonight that I wanted to watch, and there was! Miss Marple was on. I had seen the adverts for it earlier and really wanted to see it. So, I watched it and Fumihiko kind of slept through it! I really enjoyed it though. It had a lot of fabulous British actors in it, including Derek Jacobi and Tim McInnerny and Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple. I've been a fan of hers ever since I saw her play Mrs. Malaprop in The Rivals in London. She was fabulous there and as Miss Marple tonight.
Of course, I also watched Desperate Housewives tonight too. Usually it's an "us" activity, but Fumihiko was out of it. He really couldn't wake up. However, we taped it, so he'll be able to watch it tomorrow if he wants. Tonight was quite interesting. Lynette got daycare in her office, Susan told her father's wife who she is, Bree told her son that she let George die, and Gabrielle continued her battle with the nun over Carlos. She hasn't won it yet though.
Anyway, hubby is now off to bed. He's already snoring a bit, so he must have been really tired. I feel for the poor guy at times like this. He's so busy at work and he gets so tired.
That's me for tonight. Thanks for reading! Night.
