Muggy with a bit of rain.
A pretty good day. I actually got up at a reasonable time this morning and got busy. I had to have my shower and prepare the slow cooker for tonight's dinner. Sadly, I wasn't able to do both at the same time! I really wasn't sure what to do with the cooker, so I just put some frozen veggies in it, and put the meat in on top. I ate a small lunch and did my dishes before leaving for the school.
I got there, changed and made sure everything was ready for my class. It was. She came with her Mum and we had a nice time. I think the class went a lot better than I thought it would. Yay. Afterwards, I cleaned up, and then left for home.
Back at home I checked the roast. It had fallen over in the crockpot so it wasn't against the wall anymore. It looked like it was cooking okay, but wasn't very brown. I took it out, sauteed the outside a bit and put it back in the slow cooker.
I spent the rest of the afternoon taking care of my computer stuff and relaxing. I was trying to enjoy the Canada Day vibe. Yay me!
A very very tired Fumihiko came home around 6 pm and took a bath almost immediately! While he did that, I got the table set and took out some things from the fridge. We had quite a nice dinner. We had egg and spinach soup to start (instant), then roast pork, cucumber & yogurt salad, mushy veggies from the slow cooker and daikon salad. It was all pretty good. It's too bad about the veggies, but they tasted okay.
Fumihiko practically fell asleep after dinner so I did the dishes and then he rallied a bit. We decided to watch a dvd. We were going to watch Ally McBeal, but then I realized I wanted to watch My Cousin Vinny instead, so that's what we did. I really like that movie! It's a bit old now, but good.
After the movie, Fumihiko had a beer and now he's off to bed. I hope he feels better tomorrow, we're meeting friends for lunch.
So, before I go, I'd just like to say to all Canadians out there, Happy Canada Day! Enjoy the holiday.
Night night.
