May 31, 2006 - Wednesday

Cloudy, but no rain.

A surprisingly good day for me.

I went to bed really late again last night. Sigh. Bad me. This morning I tried to get up around 9:30 am, but failed. I got up finally a bit after ten, but felt so tired that after checking email and such, I tried to sleep on the couch. I didn't manage. I was too cold.

I dragged myself to the bedroom to get dressed, then felt a bit better. I was definitely warmer then. Fumihiko called me to say that he'd tried to order my whiteboard, but had to fax them later with the order form. Almost as soon as he hung up, the phone rang from the business company to verify that Fumihiko was really ordering for me! Shockingly for me, the whole conversation was in Japanese, and I understood almost all of it. Yay me!

After brunch I decided I'd better go out to the school and finish getting it ready. I planned to open officially on June 1st, but I wasn't quite ready. I biked over there and got to work. I put away the chairs that came with the apartment (nice, but not comfortable), cleaned off the table, put away boxes, all sorts of little things. When I finished it looked nice. I even took some photos and put them on my flickr account. Have a look!

When I came home, I noticed that Fumihiko had finally taken out the small refrigerator that had been half in our kitchen since the end of last year. At last. Yay. I had got a callback from my old school when I was out, so I returned the call. I chatted to my old boss and asked some questions about my leaving bonus. Anyway, the good news for me is that they forgot to pay some of my leaving bonus, so I'll get more money at the end of June. Yay me!

Fumihiko and I had dinner then. We had a pork and veggie stirfry that we bought the ingredients for last night. It was good, but not enough veggies. I like lots of veggies. We re-watched Sliding Doors while we ate. Fumihiko understood it better this time, and liked it more too. I just like to watch John Hannah! (Maybe I mentioned him before??)

After dinner and the movie we decided to go out. We went to return our dvds and I wanted to buy the next batch of Friends dvds for my collection. Well, Fumihiko the darling bought them for me...but I have the feeling that the man ringing them up made a mistake. They had a sticker on them saying they were half-price, 26?? down from 52?? yen. He charged us about half-price of the 26 something. I'm not complaining, I just don't want someone to ask us for more money later.

We hit the grocery store for milk. Fumihiko has just started to make yogurt. He fed me some tonight and it was pretty good. He wanted to make more for tomorrow. Yay.

We came home and then had an enjoyable evening just relaxing. It's been quite a nice night.

I'll talk to you tomorrow. Night night!
