Sunny but a bit cold.
We stayed up insanely late last night. I'm not sure why, we just did! When we finally went to bed it was morning. Poor Fumihiko had to get up at 9 and go to the dentist. He managed. I however got up at 9:30, watched the news and then napped on the couch until later. When Fumihiko came back I stayed in a half sleep half awake mode for ages. Finally I showered and then we went out for lunch.
We went to the Daiichi hotel for their buffet. It wasn't bad today. After lunch we went to the tax department. We picked up some forms that we have to fill out to see if I have to pay tax on my school or not. We're thinking not yet, but we'll have to fill out the forms first.
After that, we went to set the heater in my school for tomorrow. We were at a loose end after that. So, I suggested karaoke. We went to the new place that just opened near us. It was nice, and wonder of wonders, _I_ got the karaoke card! It makes sense in so many ways for me to have it, but sometimes its a hassle for a foreigner to get a card. Hubby asked if I could get one, they said yes. They looked at my ID ( I only have a gaijin card) very briefly...seriously, the guy looked at it for less than a second and gave it back, and that was it! Cool. We sang for 2 hours. I did a few new ones for me, including Meatloaf's "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" and Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight". Fun. I did the Rocky Horror Picture Show songs and fixed the words where I knew them! The new place was great. It's very stylish, the drink bar is good, but it is a bit more expensive than our regular place, so I'm not sure how often we'll go there.
We came home afterwards. I did some computer stuff for a while and then I got ready to go out. My student and her friend picked me up just after 7 and we went to Togashi for dinner. It was great. We had a really nice time. They brought me home a little after 10 I think.
Fumihiko asked me if I wanted to get something else to eat a bit later and I did, so we went to the grocery store. We picked up some tofu and bacon, hubby wanted to make miso soup with tofu and have crispy bacon. He fell in love with crispy bacon in Canada and whenever we have it here he tries really hard to get it crispy. It's not quite the same, but he does very well at it! When we came home, he became a cooking fool. He made a really good miso soup and the bacon was great. He'd heated up some leftover yakitori from last night, but left it in the grill a little too long. Still, even it wasn't too bad.
When I planned to start writing my update my computer died. I had a bit of a job getting it back up. I brought it up with the start-up disk, ran a couple of repair permissions and got it working again. Yay Macs!
Anyway, I've got to get to bed. I have a long day tomorrow and I'm a bit busy at work, so I'll bid you adieu. Adieu. Night....
