Cloudy but not very rainy.
Well, the big news of today was of course the earthquakes. We had one this morning. I was still in bed sleeping in, when Fumihiko started yelling "Earthquake! Earthquake!" What a way to wake up on a holiday morning. We did have another earthquake (or more likely an aftershock) in the afternoon around 4.
We were lucky. Up here in Tsuruoka, we didn't have it too bad. They were a level three which shakes the room, but doesn't really do all that much harm. In Niigata, it was a different story. They had level 6 quakes, at the last I heard, 7 people have been killed and a lot of buildings have been damaged and destroyed.
We had an okay day though. I went back to bed after a while. The announcements on the TV were terribly repetitive..."There was an earthquake in Niigata." "There was an earthquake in Niigata. Tsunami is expected." "There was an earthquake in Niigata." There is only so many times that a person can hear that before they start to tune out. And the fact that it was in Japanese didn't help either!
Later on, I got up and showered. We went out to pick up Fumihiko's new jeans. I got a couple of new pairs of chopsticks at the hundred yen shop, then we had a drink and a sandwich at Doutours.
Fumihiko dropped me off at home and then went to walk his dog. After he came back we decided where to go for dinner and finally decided on Jiro. It was a good choice. It wasn't too crowded today and we had a nice meal.
We hit the grocery store on the way home. I'm going to cook tomorrow night. I do like to do that occasionally. We're going to have pork kimchee stirfry and to balance that I'm planning to make a cucumber yogurt salad. I'll probably make the salad in the morning. That way it has time to blend all the flavours together.
Anyway, that's about it for me for tonight. I'm a bit tired so I'm going to end this and go to bed. I'll talk to you later! Night night.
