Rainy day with clear patches.
I got up this morning while Fumihiko was still away at his wrestling club. I checked email, and just basically wasted time until he came home. When he did, I took a shower and got dressed. We went out for brunch to a soba restaurant. It was quite nice, but I'm just not a big fan of noodles these days, even ones as healthy as soba.
We drove around in the afternoon, even spent some time in the International Center. They had information about the new immigration procedures up and it made me angry again. Japan has decided to photograph and fingerprint ALL foreigners as they come into Japan now. That includes those of us who are married to Japanese, those of us that have permanent residency(I don't quite yet) and those of my friends who have Japanese children. It's absolutely ridiculous if you want my opinion. My husband does not care. He feels that if I have nothing to hide, I shouldn't care. Let's see if he still feels that way after I have to wait 2 or 3 hours in an immigration line when I return to Japan...he'll sail through in 30 minutes. Actually, the way I'm feeling about Japan at the moment, I probably won't come back.
We also drove to the ocean and looked at a couple of ports where people were fishing. The sea was really rough today. Fumihiko had talked about going fishing on some rocky cliffs earlier this weekend, I'm so glad that he didn't.
We drove home and I fell asleep. I slept most of the way back to Tsuruoka, then when we came home, I went into our room, and fell asleep in my bed. I was out for about an hour, maybe more. Fumihiko was in the living room watching Rocky for the millionth time. I came out finally and watched another episode of Numbers while he was watching Rocky.
We had dinner in Amarume tonight, at a little restaurant that looks like a geodesic dome. I got smart tonight and told Fumihiko to look at the menu before we went into the room with our table. They don't have the food posted in the room, you're just supposed to take one look and remember everything. Not going to happen in our case! Fumihiko had seafood fry and I had chicken stew. We had the dinner set, and it was great. We got a few little appetizers, my favourite was a stuffed mushroom with a cheesy-chicken filling. Yum. There was some tomato flavoured tofu that was very nice too. The stew was really good. I half expected it to be in a tomato sauce, but it wasn't. That made me happier, because tomatoes and I don't always get along. After our coffee at the end of the night, we drove back to Tsuruoka.
We went to the grocery store and I tried to get things for our dinner tomorrow night, but the store was out of cabbages. How do they run out of cabbage? I dunno but they did. So, we'll have to go back tomorrow. Fumihiko kept asking if he should make dinner tomorrow but I said no. He can make dinner on Tuesday night if he likes, I'll be working late then. Tomorrow I'm off work, so I'd rather just do it myself.
We came home and watched Jarhead. We didn't plan to, it was on, and we didn't change the station. It was good, but very brutal.
That's pretty much my day today. I'm tired and I might even try to go to bed before 3 again. For a change! Night night.
