Cloudy with a little light rain, cold.
Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
Today was a great day. I got up early. I was having a really interesting dream, but when my alarm went, I sprang up in bed (for a change) and got up. I drank coffee and started watching the news about the US election. It's a very sad state of affairs when I know more about the US election than I do about the one we just had in Canada.
While I was watching the results come in, I wrapped up the presents for my sister and then boxed them up. I'm recycling an old Amazon box for that job. I was doing odd jobs around the house when the news came on the TV that McCain was conceding the election. I was actually quite moved by his speech. Sadly, I didn't see Obama's victory speech as I had to go out.
I took the box for my sister to the post office and sent it off. Her birthday is a little over a week away, I'm not sure it'll make it in time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for it. Then, I went for a long bike ride to a bank to pay my school's water bill. I went on the backroads because the main roads are busy and very narrow. I paid the bill without much trouble, then stopped in a bakery and the convenience store on the way home. When I was biking home, I missed one of my turns because there was a car behind me, so I detoured. Uh-oh. Oughtn't do that! I ended up a little lost, so had to backtrack but did make it home!
When I got home I watched The 4400, then Medium while I ate my lunch.
Fumihiko came home around 6 and we discussed what to do for the evening. We tossed around restaurant ideas and finally decided on the Grand El Son's. I changed into a slightly more attractive top, then we drove over there. I think we were the only patrons, but we had a nice meal. They were having an Italian fair, so we had that. We had soup with risotto in it, pasta, pork, and finally cannoli with coffee. It was delicious and I was stuffed! I was glad that I finally got to have cannoli after hearing about it on The Sopranos for so long!
We did a quick grocery store trip, then came home. At home, I got Fumihiko to help me order my cards from UNICEF. They need things like the address in kanji which I can't do on my computer. It's a good job I was watching what he was doing because at one point he clicked the order button 3 times, and was going to order me 3 boxes of cards. ACK!
We had a quiet evening at home after that. We watched a weird film and then Fumihiko watched Japanese baseball. It was an important game (the final I think?) so I didn't make too much any fuss.
That was that. I had a good day. I just saw a Facebook update that said my niece is on her way home with her dad. I guess that means the worst is over for her.
And so, that's it for me. I'm off to bed, probably! Night.
|My blog on Blogspot. NO annoying pop-ups, and with bonus pictures too! I'm running out of space on Angelfire and will probably move the daily blog portion to Blogspot completely.
