Strong wind and rain in the afternoon, rain at night.
I had a pretty normal day at home today. I did do three loads of laundry and watched a movie that I'd taped last night, Venus. I'm a sucker for Peter O'Toole. It was okay. I liked parts of it, think I probably should rewatch it sometime with fewer distractions.
I left a few minutes early for work. It was scary out there. The wind was so strong that it literally took my breath away. At one point, I couldn't pedal forward anymore, so I stopped my bike to get off. I had both feet firmly on the ground and I very nearly was knocked over by the wind. I'm not a lightweight woman either, so it was strong. I detoured into the drugstore to get a few things for myself, then headed on to my school.
It was nice and toasty inside. Thankfully I had set the heater the night before. I took off my soaked through clothing and hung it in the shower. I had bought new socks for myself at the drugstore, and had brought a dry pair of trousers with me so I knew I'd be okay afterwards. I put on my work clothes and got on with my work.
My class was fine tonight. The girls seem to be getting more into the class and enjoying it more. Of course I suppose they are understanding quite a bit more too! My second class had cancelled today, so I used the time to plan a lesson for her using her new textbook. She asked that we change books recently and so I'm trying something new for me. I prepped her lesson, and also one of the children's lessons. I was busy. Fumihiko texted me at 9:25 and I was surprised that it was so late!
I finished up, called him back and then he picked me up. I had asked him to bring me a pair of shoes from home as mine had become soaking wet in the rain. I don't know what he was thinking. I told him which pair of shoes to bring! The pair of runners near the door with the zippers. He brought me a pair of loafers from the shoe closet that I haven't worn in years because they DON'T FIT! Argh! At least he didn't bring me heels! He tried.
We had a nice dinner in Grado. We both had pork saute and fried chicken. It was really good. I kept one eye on my food and one eye on K-19, the movie playing in the background. I don't like that movie...I don't like any movie where good people die.
We bought a few groceries then came home. We really had a quiet evening. Fumihiko watched something about South Africa that wasn't annoying and then went off to bed. I should get there soon myself. I stayed up too late even for me last night. Sigh.
That's it for me. Have a good night.
|My blog on Blogspot. NO annoying pop-ups, and with bonus pictures too! I'm running out of space on Angelfire and will probably move the daily blog portion to Blogspot completely.
